STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I was taking screenshots for ImperialFighter, and I noticed something:

That shot of the Star Destroyer underneath the Executor that isn't shadowed is the same shot of the Star Destroyer that gets hit by the ion cannon, but its shadowed in that shot!

Maybe the element from the Hoth shot would be better suited for under the Executor.

It's hard to say. You could argue either way... without knowing the history of Boba, I would say that he was close to his father, and that wouldn't want to remove himself from his father by getting rid of his accent. But we could create a whole story line for why he changes it... lol

I've already been tempted once to write Expanded Universe for Revisited (like how did that Battle Droid get to the Sandcrawler?), don't make me think more about it. It'd also be interesting to learn more about the planet the Death Star is orbiting in ANHR, what was it called?

U got that straight!!

Musicman...after listening to your little clippy there, I gotta say "Get the f**k outta here"

Only joking man, still think the original voice is by far the best. But I would say that, he's my great Uncle!

He probably would be a great uncle, but that's a weird comparison to make...

Wait, are you actually related to Wingreen? That's pretty cool. If only you were related to Morrison and could convince him to redo his voice for us...

What you could do is record him saying Jango Fett's lines, then we'd have Wingreen doing all of the masked Fetts!

So more people are okay with Han Solo's pants changing from one movie to the next, but they want the TIEs to be all the same color, as if the TIEs associated with the Death Star are the default color for the TIEs in the rest of the galaxy? I think it's good that Han Solo doesn't always wear the same clothes (that could get smelly), and that the Empire doesn't always use the same paint job.

Point taken about the TIE Interceptor being a seperate instance from the TIE Fighters in ESB/ROTJ.

As for changing the color of the Executor... no, just no! We don't need to look to the video games to tell us how things are supposed to look in Star Wars.

Do we have to change things to make them all look the same? Basic consistency is one thing, making everything too bland and similar is another (like if somone wanted to remove all the color markings from the clones and battle droids in the prequels; or making all the lightsabers/blaster bolts the same color).

Variety is cool... anyway, that's my opinion.

I don't see anyone around here who wants the TIEs to be the same color as the ones in ANH. Honestly before this discussion, I never noticed that they were blue in the other movies. It's become that I don't care what color they are, as long as they are consistant from shot to shot. Vader can have an Elite Purple Squadron, as long as they are purple in every shot.

That's awesome Sumatra. It's one thing to find pictures of the models online. It's quite another to have someone go and take pictures specifically for Adywan to figure out which shade to have the TIE fighters.

Had anyone told me a few months ago that I would be reading arguments as to the shade of blue of TIE Fighters, I would have said they were crazy. Now its how I spend my free time.

So, ImperialFighter and I are collaborating to put screenshots to some of his "quality control". I am posting these pictures on his behalf, and he should be along shortly to comment on them.

By the way, does anyone have a PAL to NTSC timecode translator? I found that his timecodes were off a lot farther than I would have guessed! Hope you enjoy his commentary, I'm sure I will!

I say the words "at at" for AT-AT, but I say "ay tee s tee" for AT-ST. I just watched Robot Chicken's Star Wars Special commentary, and Seth Green called it an "at at", then later called it an "ay tee ay tee".

Guess it all comes down to personal preference. I mean, Lucas calls Han "Haan"...

Personally, I've advised certain various friends and their brats who hadn't yet seen any of the Star Wars saga, to start with 'A New Hope' (Adywan's version of course) and the rest of the Original Trilogy, before seeing the Prequels, regardless of the numerical order.... :)

It would certainly help people to understand how vastly disappointed we (as long-time OT fans) all were with the PT.

Now IMO I think the Prequels were great movies. BUT they just seem like completely different Star Wars than the one I saw a couple of nights ago. To me In since I saw the prequels first it seemed that while the storys were similar it just seemed like to much had changed in 15 years or whatever to even be the same story. In the ROTS the Sith Lord was seeking for an Aprentice when he found Anakin and that was suppose to be the whole turning point in the series but when you get to a New Hope it seems like the Jedi aren't even regarded as being that powerful of people. It seems that if Lucas was always intending to make prequels he should have made the prequels first to fit in better cause it seems like the two series or just storys that are somehow similar but don't conincide.

classicrock, you're just proving most of our points on the prequels. In 20 years, the Jedi have become myths, their "fire has gone out of the universe", after thousands of years of helping to run the whole galaxy! I wish that the prequels fit in better with the existing movies, I especially wish some of the plot twists of Empire and Jedi had remained secrets, but you already know that Anakin had kids, they're twins, and they're named Luke and Leia!

I always thought when people said the "lens" was missing while Fett was loading Solo, I thought they were crazy. You see, I thought they were talking about the whole antenae assembly, which is quite obviously there. I never would have noticed that. Thanks seven, I guess. More flaws in my favorite movie. *sniff*

The only thing I think should be added is the shot just before the Rebel sees the AT-ATs with his macrobinoculars might have the tail end of a huge landing craft pulling up, and that's what's making all the smoke. CG prequel ships lit from Geonosis next to stop-motion AT-ATs lit with the white light of Hoth would stand out way too much.

I'm thinking that maybe the cockpit window should be tinted red at the very least, and at the very awesomenest have a full heads-up display on it. Targeting displays and whatnot. That'd be awesome, but maybe a bit much. I trust Ady to keep the right tone with his cut of the movie.

well i did it because only in ANH & ESB does the starfield rotate when you see a ship entering hyperspace. i all other movies it remains static (check out when the fleet jump to hyperspace in ROTJ). Also if the starfieilds rotate like that then doesn't that mean that the ship has to spin to get into hyperspace?

Travelling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops boy! You can't handle it if you have a weak stomach!

The Special Edition wasn't needed.

Akwat Kbrana said:

I enjoy a good SE bash as much as the next guy, but I'm not sure I entirely agree that they weren't needed whatsoever. The concept of a special edition which fixes poor visual effects (really dark matte lines, translucent snowspeeders, projector-screen-rancor, miscoloured ANH lightsabres) is good, IMO, provided you don't proceed to then wipe away the original from the pages of film history.

The real problem is that GL went overboard. Rather than touching up the films, he ended up tampering with them. Claymation Jabba, Greedo shooting first, Fraggle Rock characters in Jabba's palace, and a big ol' frikkin' beak on the Sarlaac pit are all examples of change for the sake of change that just stretches credutilty to the breaking point. What's really sad is that a lot of these over-the-top changes were done while lots of a subtle things that really would've helped the films were completely ignored. (Snowspeeders are still translucent. Luke's lightsabre is still sickly green. Et cetera and so forth.)

Honestly, I don't mind the celebration scene so much (although the Kenny G music does irk me; gimme "Yub, yub!" any day.) I even rather enjoy the new sky shots in cloud city. The key is subtlety. The silly CGI antics performed by Jawas and droids as Luke & Co. enter Mos Eisely just scream, "Look at me! Look at me! I'm a new addition! Isn't this great?!?!"

Sooo, all that to say, the concept of an improved OT has potential; the egregious failure was in the execution. That's why, to me, the SEs will forever be apocryphal, and Adywan's revisited series (once it's finished) I will consider canon.

Amen and amen.

I wonder if they added the blue to kinda make the film seem colder... because DAMN ...that's a lot of blue.

i think it amy have been a crude attempt at highlighting its harsh times for the rebellion. in the prequels the colours of each film seem tailored to the mood, (EP1+2 being rosy and over saturated to show the inoocence and romance, EP3 being alot darker and broodier) in ROTJ the colours seem to get a bit jolly again after the emperor is killed, han almost looks like he is wearing lipstick!

At least that's a better excuse than "to give them a more modern look." But one of the first screenshots Ady posted of the color correction was how the DVD actually has LESS blue in a few shots. Craziness.
