Yeah sure.
Yeah sure.
Team Negative One has a similar project being worked on their forum.
Unfortunately I only have a really comprehensive list for RotJ so far. Waiting for 4K77 V2 before doing ANH and 4K80 for ESB.
Is there a danger, that as Disney keeps releasing OT era tv shows, that these edits will never be finished?
Hopefully not, but if there is, I’ll have your shuttle standing by…
Why would they affect Ady at all? It’s not like he works on the shows.

Per the WordPress site,
“Remove Yub Nub & Victory Celebration”That must have been written waaaay back, during the briefest of times i was thinking of ending it on the funeral pyre. The ending is going to be pretty much the theatrical ending. NO planets, no Hayden, no Victory Celebration. I hate the SE planet celebrations and victory celebration music. Victory celebration sounds so out of place musically. Williams just basically ripped off the original animatic guide track ( and didn’t even bother to try and hide the fact) and it sounds so out of place in the OT. The guide track was for a Native American mini series and you can tell it still has that theme.
The original animatic guide track?
Yep. Here:

How have I never seen this before
“Red R2” issue now fixed 😃
I guess my eyes are worse than I thought they were. I don’t see a red R2 in the 2011 footage.
The “issue” was Adywan’s original fix for having two R2’s in the scene, which was coloring one of them red (see ANHR and last week’s preview video).
Ohh ok. I see it in the original comparison. So there were always “officially” two R2s in that shot? Never noticed before.
There’s one prop heading toward camera, then the actors turn a corner and another prop heads directly away from camera.
Was it two props or hidden stitch continuity error? I asumed that lady that crosses the screen was hiding a wipe.
It’s two props.

I really hate to be that guy, but the one thing that I question is the color correction made for the binary sunset scene. Shouldn’t it be a bit more towards blue?
You’ve been here long enough, what do you think the answer is going to be?
Ady thinks it looks better.
Am I the only one who thought the replies sounded a bit sarcastic before actually watching the video? Like, I thought Ady added a ronto walking across the screen or something like that. 😉
Dammit, Ady, we should have waited until April 1st!
It would’ve good to hype it up. Behold the amazing visual effects. You won’t believe your eyes.
and then it’s just like…a pillar.
No, the Ronto is always the answer.

What needs to be shown is what happens when you take the 60 FPS version and take it back down to 24 to cut back into the movie. I imagine the effect will be pretty much the same as it was originally.
Yeah, if you want the movies to look like this, just turn on “Motion smoothing” on your tv.
@adywan someone told me if you have the hdr or Dolby vision metadata from the original trilogy it can be added to your fanedit but the only thing I wasn’t sure on was would your new footage complicate that or not just wondering. because if it doesn’t I’m surprised you and nobody knew about this I didn’t know about until yesterday.
HDR is really just a different way of encoding the colors. Before OLED and Laser Projectors, there was a range to blacks. It basically expands that range. Someone skilled at the conversion could take any of his changes and render those shots in HDR. The only way to get true HDR is to shoot it in HDR. All old film was not designed for that and it will be an approximation. Some films can be scanned from the Original Negative and glean out some extra data when scanned as HDR. The Star Wars films are heavy on FX which really limits things. The scans we have were not scanned with HDR in mind, but with 3D in mind. So converting Adywan’s edit could be just as good as the Lucasfilm HDR version.
At least the way I understand it. You can discuss the color space and all the technical details, but at the root you have to have an original image that is suitable for HDR. Other have done HDR conversions of non-HDR sources.
So how can the lucasflim’s hdr grade be added to it then now I’m even more confused?
It can’t. Please stop.
That doesn’t sound physically possible.
Hello, I sent you a DM regarding your Edits of The Phantom Menace and others
What are you talking about and why did you bring it up in this thread?
I think I know why he probably thought adywan gets so many messages that he didn’t see it.
And adding to this thread bothers thousands of people and won’t make Adywan answer him any faster.

What source was used to create the ANH_REVISITED_SD_x264.mp4?
The DVD-9 source if Im not mistaking.
Yeh, it was the PAL DVD-9
I’m famous on here for being able to spot differences in screenshots. I’ve made it my actual hobby. I don’t know what you’re getting at by posting a link to two identical screenshots of the Fox logo save for some compression.
I still have questions.
I’m sure you do.
This small topic possibly has popped up some time before, but I wanted to ask to be sure.
I’m assuming there will be no HDR pass on this, or any other Revisited Trilogy Edits?
…you can’t just add information that’s not there. I don’t care how artificial your intelligence.
Why do you care so much about the credits?
No, I need my name in the credits font. 😉
I mean, that was 7 years ago (which you should make clear in your upload)
I know I shouldn’t bring this up again but, I did just realize something. Since you’re using Topaz to improve the existing 2011 Blu-Ray for ANH:R HD, why not attempt the same for ESB:R?
That is if you want to do it, as it is your choice and not mine, or anyone else’s.
(In some of the shots where Leia turns around to rescue Luke from Cloud City, the lighted buttons in the Falcon’s cockpit bleeds together.)
Didn’t you just ask this?
