Guys, there is amazing website called imgur.com. You can, like, upload images to it and then link them to other websites without them turning into a “No Entry” signs. I know, that’s amazing right?

No need to be a sarcastic ass about it

+1 No one likes a sarcastic ass.

Yeah, but seriously, this thread has become Highway Code central. I really don’t mind what happens, as long as I can see something.

It was a change from the trailer, not the finished film.

Yep. Fortunately many redditors have pointed this out and the OP has said “oops, shouldn’t have posted this” after ranting about it in a number of posts first. Now we’ll get to see it pop back up every few months in an “OMG you Lucas h8ers are hippocrites!!!”.

Still, I’m intrigued as to why they were changed.

I don’t know if anyone has said this before, but I came across this https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/4hg9cn/star_wars_episode_vii_mazs_kantana_flags_have/ and I was wondering if anyone had plans to put the theatrical flags back in in an edit? Don’t know why they’ve changed them, other than the continuing onslaught by Disney on eradicating the prequel trilogy.

I have been working on a edit for some time now, I have the whole thing planned out and it is a vital part for me to get rid of Jar Jar Binks from the Tattoine scenes, but I no longer have much time to spare and couldn’t find an efficient way of doing that. Can someone get rid of Jar Jar Binks? Just like the example video here: https://vid.me/9xx8

Here is the link to my page:
http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Phantom-Menace-REIMAGINED/id/17970
My edit involves changing the sequence of the movie (it will now start with Tattoine like the original trilogy) and Jar Jar Binks really doesn’t fit there.

If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

I can’t for the life of me remember, but someone on here was doing an edit with exactly this in mind. If this was indeed you I apologise, but surely someone must have removed Jar Jar from TPM by now?

Yeah, I agree that the jarring switch from BD footage would ruin the unexpected blooper aspect.

I mean, most of the bloopers are such bad quality that even with the silver screen edition it’ll “jar”. And I don’t have any skills in the cleanup department. Still a lot better than the S****** E****** tho.

I also haven’t a clue where to find a comparable source for EpV+VI, although that truly is a question for another time.

In terms of an update, all I can say is I think I’m going to have more than just bloopers+scenes, seeing as most people want to see silliness, I’ll be (gently) sprinkling some throughout 😉 although they should all have some reason for them being there.

How silly is the film going to be in your edit? Will it be so silly people will be complaing to you because they wet their pants laughing, or is it going to be the original with a few laughs here and there.

You know what, you’ll just have to wait and see! I don’t anticipate it being a “non-stop adventure” of the sorts. As I said it needs moments of sanity for the insanity to be relatively insane. Honestly how funny you’ll find it entirely depends on you yourself.

Also a laugh track may be something to add if that’s what you’re looking for.

I’ve never been much of a fan of laugh tracks, because I seem to associate them with overrated shows (Big Bang theory etc) and truly funny shows (Family guy, Simpsons etc) don’t have need them.

I don’t think I’ll put them in this edit (also because it’s more work and I’m lazy) as I really don’t want to pretend this is anything other than Star Wars. In a way, I think it really is about being able to make the casual viewer feel this is a legitimate release and seeing how far they get into it before realising. That would be part of the fun.

Thanks for your reply.
Well, that’s partly why I decided to implement some deleted scenes (but also because some of them really are very odd). I’m looking to have around 2 deleted scenes per film, with even more bloopers for each film.

So yeah, sure it would because (I think, or rather I hope) that is what I want the experience to be like. I still want it to be Star Wars. And sure, this certainly won’t appeal to all-mostly weird people like me.

Or would there be other Frinkish types of silliness implemented throughout

Now you see, I’m on the fence with this. The shot in the trailer is sort of the thing I had in mind. It’s kind of a gag on the fact that a lot of things in SW are reused from our own world, so I wanted to satire that in a way. I might add some Easter Eggs, I don’t know yet. Ultimately if it “fits” per say I’ll add near enough anything.

So I was reading somewhere online about Star Wars bloopers and someone suggested that someone should add bloopers to the Star Wars movies (wow, there was way too much vagueness in that sentence).

I was instantly fascinated by the idea, and decided to investigate further. This is the product.

Currently, I’m thinking of adding bloopers, out of place deleted scenes and even edited sequences to the OT, anything that would just seem hilariously out of place (although I don’t want too much of the former, that’s Frink’s speciality 😉). I just want to go for that feel and hopefully at the end of it have a quirky new way of watching the SW films.

So far, all I’ve got is a trailer, which should give you sort of a taste. Warning, that taste may change considerably between now and the release date. I think I’ll be using TeamNegative1’s scan as a base for SW, not sure yet for Empire and Jedi (if I ever even get onto doing those) but I want to keep a consistently analogue feel that the old footage conveys. I aim to have near to no CG in my edits.

If you have find any footage from the Original Trilogy that you think would fit in this edit please feel free to share and I’ll certainly take a look!

So what do you guys/girls/other non-gender specific term think? Go for it, or go die in a hole?

My number one priority right now is to remove as many lens flares as possible. Anyone know of a way to easily get rid of them, or at least help me get rid of them?

I heard about JJ’s obsession with them, but honestly I can’t find that many in TFA? If there are, I guess I didn’t find them too outrageous as per Star Trek.

And that snoke shot looks really good, something really good may come from this edit!

As for the rathtars, who knows maybe someone could apply some sort of stop motion effect to get them closer to the something like the rancor and AT-AT’s of the 80’s (hey that rhymed)?

Alternative to giving him an actual voice, I think it would be interesting to just give him an alien voice or just garbles of sounds, unsubtitled, and have characters reactions clue us in to what he’s saying, like chewbacca.

I second this. An accented JJB would just be cringey imo.

Love the podrace scene btw, perfect length and actual tension at the end. Never thought I’d write that about the Phantom Menace…

That really is a lightbulb moment. One question, how will you manage the subtitles. Will he start off more or less completely subbed and gradually move away from them? that could emphasise the change, but would be a little tricky in the mushy middle.

Personally I think it would be too difficult b/c the above and also because he’s a (kind of) important/main character, and SW subtitles are rarely given to a character with more than a handful of lines…
