Actually, ‘Requiem’ should still work for HD Itunes. I used it not that long ago.

Once you buy and download it through iTunes, you can use a DRM removal tool like TunesKit, and then you’ll have a workable m4v file to do with as you please.

Why do you not think it’s better? D+77 is the awful grain wiped Disney plus version intertwined with a DNRed 4k77. 4k77 was sourced from a beautiful IB technicolor print and does not have the DNR.
I’m not a fan of watching something where the grain is so thick I can chew it. I’ll take detail over grain any day.
I think 4K77 would blend with the VHS better at least.
A laserdisc would blend best.
I recommend using 4k77 instead of despecialized for the shots which were taken from a new hope.

FYI…I uploaded the original French edit from my archives to the spleen.
I got it years ago from a French TV station and it’s right from their archives. I have no idea if it’s better quality or not - I’ll let you guys figure that out.

Not drastic but there is a difference.
This is really interesting… you actually see slightly more of the picture in the Disney+ Version.

Genndy Wars was just released on Disney+ today. However, from my analysis, it is just a straight upload of the DVD version with no enhancements or upgrades.

A couple of things, though.
It really would be awesome if you used true 4k sources once Indy comes out this summer. I know it’s heresy to say but I’m not a fan of using the scans unless absolutely necessary. There’s just so much more detail in the actual 4k scans.
We really should work on getting a scan of that THX trailer that ends the regular trailer. The one you used for the non-SE is nice but it’s definitely no replacement for the original.

In my experience upscaling is better left to your TV or media player. Keep the source at its original resolution. I’d recommend deinterlacing your video, but not upscaling.
Agreed. What is this obsession of up-scaling suddenly? It doesn’t help.

He told me he’s not making any money off of this and that’s been his line for years. I don’t remotely understand how that’s possible.
Has anyone created 1 “trilogy” artwork for the 4K+ versions? I’d love something to print out and put in my case with all 3 films in 1.
