Have the trailers been “released?”
Have the trailers been “released?”
I don’t see any problem with not wanting to work with your ex. Seems like a natural thing for a human being.
I find it a little ironic that she apparently left George because he wouldn’t stop making movies, but now she thinks it’s unfortunate that she wasn’t brought in to do the prequels.
Still, it would’ve been interesting to see what impact she might’ve had on the prequels.
In what way did she “fix” ROTJ?
watch the doc. It’s absolutely worth it, especially the Jedi episode
Just watched that 4th episode.
Wow. That’s all I have to say. To all of it.
Very much this, and also The 5th episode of the series too. Some interesting views and opinions in it on the Special Edition and Phantom Menace films. Just 1 more episode still to be shown.
Everyone seems to be too busy salivating over L&M to talk about this. I find it far more interesting.
There’s no way they’re getting that price, never mind that I’m sure they have no idea if the tape still works. However, there must be more of these around. Why have they never turned up?
Well, I’m watching the final episode now and I can tell you they are 100% for sure using the fan-made Jurassic.Park.1993.35mm.1080p.Cinema.DTS.v2.0 release - I compared it and it’s pixel-for-pixel exactly the same, except they graded it a tiny bit more towards teal.
We’ve come full circle.

Just finished watching and yeah like what the above comment says not much new in terms of information. Nice to get Marcia Lucas’ input for once but otherwise not much that past documentaries haven’t already told us.
There was a bunch of stuff in the Empire episode that I had never heard before.
I haven’t seen that one yet.
So what HAVE you watched? 3 episodes have aired. You’re judging a whole series on…what…one episode? 2?

Weren’t there rumours (maybe two or three years ago) that Lucasfilm or Disney was scanning and digitalizing all SW material they have in the archives? By the look of it, they have indeed - or are still doing it. Just look at all this perfect quality BTS material, especially the crew footage of ILM.
They were. I also wouldn’t be surprised if some of the workers had their own footage as well, bringing in their own home movie cameras and saving that footage in their basements for years.
can someone upload this?can´t watch it…😦
you can torrent it. Do you know how?
find some,thanks.
but it would be great to find these at myspleen at the highest quality…
if sombody…😃
The torrents are the highest quality. They’re taken directly from the Vice website.

I’m really loving this show. All the clips from Empire were original in last night’s episode - original Emperor, Cloud City and Boba’s voice.
There were several things I learned from it that I’d never heard before. I REALLY wish they had gotten Marcia’s take on that Carrie Fisher conversation.
Yeah this episode was very Marcia-centric. Not disputing it. Just…interesting.
Thank you very much for bringing this new series to my attention! I watched the intro and I’m already hooked and it’s great to see Marcia be acknowledged, especially how she outright says that George pretended she didn’t even exist after their divorce. This series also seems to be conscious about utilizing the original versions of the films, as they used a clip of Sebastian Shaw as unmasked Darth Vader with his eyebrows fully intact.
Umm…there’s a whole thread about it 😉
There were many interviews done for this event and they were all posted online right after the event took place. A few sites picked up on the interviews after they were released
Absolutely. I remember those. But they weren’t a part of a big documentary series or something that the general public was aware of. Now, that’s also not to say that the general public is aware of this doc either but…I digress. 😃
Even though they claim this is the first interview Marcia has done for years, she did do on screen interviews for the ILM anniversary screening.
Yeah but who saw that? That wasn’t public and it wasn’t part of something mass-market…unless it aired or is able to be viewed somewhere publicly.
Part of me thinks this was a condition that Marcia had for agreeing to do the documentary. It had to paint her in as favorable a light as possible for it to work.
I mean…let’s be realistic: that’s a big reason why any of us are watching. Everyone else has been interviewed to death. She’s the newbie.
Wait…how did you see the 2nd episode already?
Have there been any public comments about Kurtz after the first episode?
Watched this earlier. Some interesting things in this first part. Marcia looks like she is going to address being “erased” from SW history by George in a later episode. A few factual inaccuracies though. Looking forward to part 2.
Agreed. I definitely enjoyed it. What were some of the inaccuracies?
Is Nathan Butler on these boards at all? Been trying to reach him about a question…
I really like that Marcia has been coming out of the woods in the recent years. I wish she never left, she knew exactly what SW was… It’s cool to hear from a person who I had not heard talk or even seen anywhere other than possibly in old BTS clips until like 5 years ago.
Agreed. Is there anyone else who has refused to talk about it? I wonder who else on that credit list has never been interviewed. Everyone’s got a story.
Hey was there ever a complete upload of the theatrical film? I signed up for Myspleen but it won’t give me any results for Jaws or Jaws The Revenge. Not exactly sure how that website works, this is the first I’ve ever heard of it.
Yes there was. How are you searching? It’s extremely user friendly.
Here are a few ideas I have:
- The Lucas-owned IB Technicolor print
- A surviving interpositive or a CRI-sourced print (like 4K78) that has damage unique to it - there’s too much detail for it to be a release print, even an AI-enhanced one
- Trailers for some, other print sources for Han
- IIRC, the shot of Han appeared in From Star Wars to Jedi, so maybe a scan of that?
- Press kit materials
Topaz was definitely used to process these scans, which makes me think something about them didn’t warrant a full 2K or 4K scan.
Re: #4 - FSW2J was 4x3 so…no.
Re: #5 - I can’t imagine EPK footage would show a clip from the end of the movie, unless it was the SE. And I don’t think the SE would look like this.
Re: #3 - I’m not intimately familiar with all of the Star Wars trailers but did any of them have that shot?
Re: 1/2 - why would they scan that instead of something internally at Lucasfilm? Is it possible it’s a print from one of the ILM people?
OK, i have just found proof that they are using footage of the OT from trailers.
I guess the other question is: does that Han *yahoo" shot show up in any trailer with the same blemishes in the print on his face? That would confirm everything.
I don’t think all the footage is from trailers.
Right. So then where does that Han shot come from? None of this makes much sense.
