STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

I mean the canon novels have plenty of female imperial troopers and officers and even admirals. The only reason we don’t see those things in the movie is that the OT is a product of its time. You wouldn’t see females on villain roles simply because it was only ever done in a sexual deviant way at that point in time

The ending reveal in The Last Jedi was very easy to predict.
Time

I remember sitting in the theater opening night staring at the lightsaber, confused. I knew it had just been broken, but I hadn’t seen it since the flash of light. Maybe I missed something and the movie will explain it later. (whenever theres something in a movie I don’t understand I trust that if I just keep watching it’ll make sense down the line). Up until the lightsaber I honestly just thought that Luke cleaned himself up and came through the back door. I was so caught up in the moment of it all that when Kylo slashed Luke and he was unharmed I was freaking out, and then the reveal moment knocked my socks off!

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (Disney Theme Park)
Time

As much as people complain about there being ahem “NO OT CHARACTERS…???” After being there today the OT is very much prevalent in the atmosphere of the park.

There’s such a reverence for the OT with all the cast members and the shops, I think a big issue is if you’re going there to find problems you’re gonna find problems that no one else would think of as a problem.

Having Hondo and Chewie guide you through the Falcon is an amazing experience that everyone should try. Also the milk is very tasty. That’s my two cents on this

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

After watching the special look I’m more convinced now that there are going to be death star like weapons in TROS and I’m not looking forward to it. I love the SE so much and I gave TFA a pass with Starkiller, but to bring back more death stars is just something I am not looking forward to.

Also Dark Rey looks weird, I’m hoping it’ll look better in context. I think this is the first time where I’m seeing shots from a star wars movie and am just so confused on how they are going to work.

The supposed validity of the EU
Time

I always thought about what it would be like in Lucasfilm just spent some time and allowed all the loose ends in Legends canon to be resolved. That way the Legends canon of comics and books would be “complete.” I just don’t think they’re going to.

Maybe they should do an animated series like Marvel is gonna do with their “What if?” Show and allow for Legends stuff like the Sword of the Jedi to be shown in some sort of filmic media

The supposed validity of the EU
Time

RogueLeader said:

I can’t recall if Lucasfilm made an official declaration when they relabeled the EU as Legends, but maybe that information should have been brought up in a more casual way. Some fans clearly took that as an attack or something. Lucas only briefly talked about the EU in some interviews, and it came to producing the films and Clone Wars, he just did what he wanted regardless if it contradicted the EU. Maybe Lucasfilm should’ve taken the same approach, and let the fans figure it out on their own!

In the article it brings up Lucasfilms actual statement on the EU and the canon and all it talked about was that in the stories they are going to make the only Star Wars material they must stay 100% true too are the Films and Clone Wars movie and show. It never said they were decanonizing the EU, it just said that everything from 2014 forward would hold the same validity in canon as the films and everything else COULD be rewritten. Not that it would be, but that I could be.

The supposed validity of the EU
Time

First: read this amazing article about the history of the EU’s canon status https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2019/08/guest-editorial-did-george-lucas-consider-the-expanded-universe-canon.html

Second: it’s been crazy to me how so many people blame Disney for bombing the EU and declaring it all “non-canon” even though Lucas never was beholden to the EU in all cases, some which the article highlights. A big problem with the EU was Lucas didn’t care and just let it run it’s course. He took from it what he liked and what he didn’t like he just ignored.
It is just so sad to me how people say the de-canonization of the EU was a sign of Disney’s mishandling of the license and if they just followed the books then everything would have been fine.
Stuff to ponder…

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

Anyone have thoughts on the apparent Death Star wielding star destroyers that the Sith troopers are apparently a part of. With red ties and everything. Seems dumb and I hope it’s not true

The idea of having ANOTHER Death Star just makes me sad. Even if it is like 5 small ones it’s still lazy. No more planet killing super weapons. Please…

Pirates of the Caribbean box set idea (help wanted)
Time

Hello everyone, I’m working on a box set idea for the Pirates of the Carribean movies. I have a vision in my head I just don’t have the photoshop skills to do it. Basically, I am modifying the Twilight Forever BR boxset found here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Twilight-Forever-The-Complete-Saga-Blu-ray/28377460

Just for clarification, it’s not the one with the book, it instead is one with the folding disk book thing akin to the LOTR Extended DVD sets. I have all the art for the book part, what I really need is someone who would be willing to help with art for the hardcover part, if you know what I mean.

Please hit me up! I would love to chat!
