It's possible to screencapture the video, but its a suboptimal solution.

I have seen both the iBooks and Kindle version now. The iBooks version's video is definitely of a much higher quality.

Take for example the video of the ending of ROTJ with the alternate music track. The iBooks version is 720p video. The Kindle verson is dvd resolution video with a lot more compression.

The Kindle version is 8.5mb

The iBooks version is 66.6mb

The iBooks version however has DRM'd video. 

The new ebook version of Making of Return of the Jedi contains about 1:45 minutes of footage of the ending of ROTJ with an alternate ending music track, taken from an earlier cut of the film. The music is a bit of novelty, but more interesting is that the footage is in 720p and has the original Shaw appearance in a better resolution than can be found in the GOUT (as far as I can tell).

Might be of interest for Harmy if he decides to revisit ROTJ..

I've been able to get the plugin running under os x 10.8.2 with virtualbox, windows 7, and a 2.9.5 version of winamp just fine. So running it through virtualization should be an option..

It's free of corruption as far as I can tell, having watched large chunks of it.
