Seriously, An Evening with Gary Lineker and My Summer with Des should be required viewing before every major tournament England is involved in. I don’t know why the BBC or ITV or whoever don’t broadcast this judiciously during said tournaments.
I saw An Evening with Gary Lineker at the West End fresh in the nineties, and have been a fan ever since. I have an awful quality digital file on my hard drive which travels with me and is good enough for me to reopen every few years.
I also did have a VHS recorded from TV of My Summer with Des, but alas, it has gone missing after so many moves (I’m now in Los Angeles). The parts which are available on YouTube allow me to reconstruct most of it from memory, but I would just be happy with a digital copy even if equally crappy as the Gary Lineker one.
I think you’ve been helping out some readers/responders/commenters - please help out this Arthur Smith obsessive and would-be archivist, and I would be eternally grateful!
