STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

God Bless, Ady and I’m never one to nitpick over his work. I only wish he would pause the Jedi Revisited project and get to the finish line with EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION . I love seeing the work done on Jedi, so don’t get me wrong it’s just that I think 14 years(approx.) to wait for Ep 4 has been hard. Please, Please let me be able to add it to the top of my Star Wars go to viewing list, just like I do whenever I watch Ep 5 revisited.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Besides the few microscopic errors that some people with too much depth perception have found, I just see a beauty that without Ady’s incredible work would be lost. I’m an old schooler that can watch the Originals with all “Magic made in a Warehouse” FX and still love every second of it. What I see with Adywan’s versions is like he was able to go back to 1976 and work side by side with the ILMers and add his contributions to the film, with George standing back giving a big thumbs up! That is what makes these versions so special to me, they don’t take me away from the original magic, like most of the Special Edition FX did. Thank you, Maestro!

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

I wish all other work being done on projects like Return of the Jedi Revisited, could be put aside and as much time as Adywan has available be put on finishing EP IV 1080P. I just want to have it sitting next to my EP V HD Revisited on my shelf. As much as I will always love the unaltered versions, Ady’s work just compliments George’s versions, like what Paramount did when it went back and cleaned up the image and added IMO very cool new spFX shot for Star Trek the Original Series. I’m being spoiled, perhaps, by requesting this, but seeing what I’ve been seeing of the clips of the HD Revisited Star Wars all I want to do is make it my go to when I want to watch the Original Trilogy.

Thank you, Ady, for all you do.

4K83 - Released
Time

Hi,I’m wondering if anyone can tell me if I’m wasting my time. I just came across the 4K83 last week and downloaded the 1080p file, put it on a flashdrive and played it from my bluray player, through my 1080p HD projector. I was shocked and amazed at the PQ. So I saw it was also put up as a UHD download and here is my question…will this play correctly using the method I used for the 1080p version? Will the projector and bluray player be able to display it? It’s a large download file, so I don’t want to waste time if it won’t work. Thanks for any advice.

4K83 - Released
Time

Honestly, I just came upon this Jedi 4K83 after viewing a YouTube video concerning comparisons with other versions, so I decided to download the 1080P version from MySpleen. I’ve seen quite a few restorations and for the most part have liked and even loved a few, but there is something different about this 4K83 that stands out from the others, it’s genuine film like quality. Now all the above mentioned restorations had terrific picture quality, but after watching this twice I really feel it has look of the film I saw in the theater in 1983. There are many much knowledgeable film buffs on this site who may be able to explain what I’m trying to convey better, all I can say is that I find the shadows and bright scenes come across like film. I watched this on an HD 1080p projector and the image was stunning and unlike anything I’ve seen yet. When in space, the lights on the ships seem more vibrant and the colorization is much more natural. My only criticism and this scene might be intended to be this way, but I find the scene when the Emperor is using his Force Lightning his face seems too dark and hard to distinguish. One thing I’ve noticed in the many restorations that show me its from an original source and not the blu ray is the scene when the emperor is falling down the shaft, in the pre blu ray era his lightning still coming out of his hands as he falls is much finer in detail and the scale of the bolts is appropriate to the distance he is when you see him falling. In the blu ray the bolts have been made larger and brighter. Now I know this is not much to some, but I just like that I can notice it. Thanks to all who have been involved in this wonderful addition to the Star Wars preservation community.

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1
Time

My God, Harmy, I am surprised and embarrassed that it is you who replied, since I consider myself one of your biggest fans. As an artist myself who enjoys to draw, I don’t like when anyone has an issue with my vision of what I am drawing. I guess it’s just that I’ve watched your Jedi V 1.0 many times and am used to seeing the image a certain way, ex. the Emperor in that scene, where in V 1.0 it was brighter and then experiencing it in a different version . I am NO expert like some on here with knowledge of processes that are involved with creating these reconstructions. I am honored though, to have had this brief correspondence!

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1
Time

Not meaning to beat a dead horse regarding the “darker image” of some of V 2.5, but there were just a few scenes that really jumped out as too dark. Mainly the Emperor’s face when Vader and Luke’s lightsabers are ignited and clash. His face was almost blacked out completely. Also a few scenes during the space battle, noticeably when the Falcon flies past the rebel blockade runner. I finished watching V 2.5 and put in V 1.0 to compare. My question is, was the emperors face supposed to be so dark?

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1
Time

Harmy, I just “finally” purchased a BD burner and have just downloaded your latest Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Before I usually had to reduce the size of the file to be able to fit them on two dvds, but now I have them both on BDs’ and all I can say is they are the best versions out there! I read one post saying your versions were “Frankenstein-ed together” and I was very offended. Your work is so outstanding and I can’t wait for the latest Return of the Jedi version to come out. Your admiring fan, Brian.

team negative1 - star wars 1977 - 35mm theatrical version (Released)
Time

I want to start off by saying I am in awe at what the “preservationists” and “re-editors” have accomplished with the Original Trilogy. I am a layman at best, regarding the work involved and honestly Team Negative’s work is not that familiar to me. The ADYWAN and HARMY work is what I’ve kept up with. It was a surprise when I saw the notification that there was a new version of A New Hope by Team Neg. just released and I wasted no time in acquiring it. I watched the beginning of the film until the last scene with Vader on the Tantive IV and really liked what I saw. I then started to read a few negative reviews from some people regarding the amount of grain seen throughout the film, so last night I decided to continue watching the download on my computer and found I was in agreement regarding the graininess of the image. Quite frankly my memory can’t recall the picture quality of the film when I saw it in 1977, but to some this might be the correct way the movie should look, but to me I’d prefer a cleaner print as exhibited in the Harmy versions. No insults to Team Negative and their hard work.
