The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) Mango Edition V4 AVAILABLE NOW VIA PM
Time

Mango said:

Look, I made this project because it interests me. I’m sorry I didn’t do it with the sources I was apparently supposed to use, I just used what was available to me. I’m not going to buy another copy of the movie just so this project can be completed by the standards that were apparently expected from me. If it truly is a “lost cause”, then I’m just done with it. If you guys really need it to be in 4K with lossless audio, you are free to try the project yourselves.

I personally have the lossless audio you need and others do too, I’m sure. Nobody is hating on the project. I think it’s great. We were just saying if the lossless audio is available then use it… I would be happy to donate it from a rip of my BD. I can understand us coming off as rude but that wasn’t the intent. Speaking for myself, I was trying to use constructive criticism to improve what was already great. The colors you came up with look very good to me.

Idea: 'Night Of The Living Dead' Criterion Blu-Ray Release - 2016 Copyright at end of film
Time

Hi, Guys. I wondered if anyone would want to fix the idiotic 2016 copyright at the end of the NOTLD Criterion BD? I ask because the film looks amazing and is for sure the best release to date… but a damn 2016 copyright is splattered on the screen as the bodies burn at the very end. Kinda takes me out of the film. Petty I know but it is what it is. I am not quite up to the task but I would think lots of people here could do it pretty easily and fast. All that would need to be done is to patch out the copyright with perfectly aligned HD footage from another BD release. Maybe slight color correction. I have the video to work with if anyone would like to do this project.

PS: And yes I know why the 2016 copyright was placed there… to copyright the new restoration done lately. No need to explain that part.

The A-Team Broadcast Restoration (Released)
Time

I have just now finished watching the entire series of the UK BD set and wanted to update everyone in the thread on what edits we will need to fix. I posted a list of edits much earlier but they were from the DVD set and now I will only list what needs fixed on the UK BD set because some edits on the DVD sets were fixed.

The only edits that exist on the UK BD set are as follows:

SEASON 1
Mexican Slayride: “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” has been replaced with new music and footage of Murdock singing along has been cut.

SEASON 2
Teasers are missing from all episodes.

SEASON 3
Cup A’ Joe: The song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” has been removed.

Beverly Hills Assault: The song “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” have been replaced with new music.

Teasers are missing from all episodes.

That is all that needs fixed. All other previous edits missing from this list have been fixed since the DVD sets were released.

Ok, I am now halfway through Season 4 of the UK BD set and my updated report is with the following Season 3 DVD edits that I listed before:

SEASON 3
Cup A’ Joe: The song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” has been removed.
Beverly Hills Assault: The songs “The Heat is On” and “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” have been replaced with new music.

The UK BD set corrected the song “The Heat is On” on Beverly Hills Assault but “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” was missing if I recall correctly. I would need a timestamp to know for sure but I can’t recall hearing it in the episode. "Cheeseburger in Paradise on the Cup A’ Joe episode is missing for sure. That one is just missing without scenes edited. And so the Beverly Hills Assault needs “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” fixed. I believe that’s all the news I have at the moment.

The more I read about the little edits the more I remember and the more it bothers me, the pilot movie been one with the music replacement.

I downloaded the pilot off Google play in HD and still the same cut messed with version so I purchased an old VHS of the pilot to check if the music is replaced in that version, it should arrive in the next day or so.

I loved the pre credit teasers when originally shown in the 80’s and hated it when I found out they where missing off the DVD’s.

The episodes I listed previous have the teasers in place on the episodes.

I only wish I had kept all my pre recorded episodes before I upgraded to the DVD’S I purchased the original release of season 1 & 2 then purchased the small box set version with all seasons in the UK but still have missing teasers.

That’s great! I hope it includes the scene and music uncut. Be nice to at least see it in decent quality. I saw it before but was a low quality video on youtube.

Yes I agree cuts in the episodes are the most important thing to tackle. It’s only the completist in me that wants to do the teasers. In some ways I don’t actually like them as I think they often give away too much of the episode!

Haha you nailed how I feel exactly! I kinda want them re-inserted, but I also want all episodes without the teasers too! They really do giveaway too much of a spoiler. Just for purist sakes (I always remember them being there growing up) I want them. Be nice to have them as seamless branching on a BD set to choose to watch the episodes with or without them. I also think the teasers would have worked better if played after each episode concludes instead of before an episode. Like a “on the next episode…” kinda thing to get you hooked for the next episode, if they used teasers at all.

I am pretty familiar with the series, as I grew up with it… But I wouldn’t say I know it 100% perfectly scene for scene and word for word. I will see if I can find any mention of anything missing on the BDs that is present on th DVDs though. And good idea about the rebuilding of the teasers. That will take awhile but will be cool. I would like the teasers restored but they are not as important as the edits to me. They’re part of the history of the show though, so they do eventually need restored. 👍

Also, the following listed edits are corrected on the UK BD set:
SEASON 1

A Small and Deadly War: A scene with Murdock singing “Satisfaction” has been cut.

SEASON 2

When You Comin’ Back , Range Rider?: Part of Hannibal’s dialog is cut. In the line “Now you tell Mr. Carter he’s out of the rustling business.” all words are missing except rustling business.

So no need to fix those ones. Good news to have less to fix than originally thought. That edit list was compiled years ago for the DVD sets and apparently some of the edits aren’t present on the BD set thankfully.

Ok, I’m stopping in for an update… As I haven’t posted in a bit. Been researching things about this series though. I checked a week or so ago and it seems the US Netflix currently doesn’t have A-Team available to watch. I know it was up a few years ago. Also, Did you notice Season 2 and 3 on the UK BD set has no pre-credits teasers? I been watching a lot of these episodes in order and noticed only Season 1 had them. I am binge watching these and am halfway through Season 3 currently.

Is there anyway to tell if I got the repress? I own the BD set and didn’t know there were any syndication versions.

If you’re talking the A-team set, check the Season 3 episode “Bend in the river” , and see if it’s split into 2 parts.

Ok I just checked the episode “Bend in the River” and thankfully it’s the full movie length version in 1 part. I just got this November 1st from the UK Amazon and I guess they only sell the repress by now. Saved me a lot of trouble.
