For many, many years I have thought about doing a faux version of the Lost Cut. A few have said over the years that they were going to do one but still no finished product has ever surfaced. I am now contemplating starting one. Has anyone cleaned the scenes from episode 4 from the bluray? Also, has anyone ever done a better restoration of the original complete Jabba scene as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw1gkNd6Z_8

NOOOO…to all your questions…

I guess I’ll just do it myself

Looking for Alien deleted scenes from bluray release.
Time

I’m the one who did the virtual workprint. There are a few things that I have wanted to fix in it over the years. Plus when I did the final encoding I did a quick compressed version. I still have all of the original files across a dozen DVDs. One thing I have been unable to do is extract the “new” deleted clips from the bluray. I have the bluray set. But I don’t have a bluray player on my PC. I have been looking for a way to get all of those clips to maybe add to my edit. Is there anyone out there who has extracted them in high quality? I’m still going for a “workprint” version. It would be nice to add to it.

I saw a fan edit of Alien once that threw in everything. The deleted scenes quality was horrendous, and this was a DVD fan edit. Have the deleted scenes been tinkered with somewhat for the blu?

The deleted scenes are not remastered.  And the quality of some is just how they looked on the old laserdiscs.  The fan edit was most likely the Redux Virtual Workprint.
