I'm about halfway through an attempt to do this. Now, this is not technically possible as Jackson did not mirror the original and then pad it. The 2005 Kong is very much it's own movie. But, I think it is possible to cut this movie down to a lean 2 hour film. After my chop cut of the 1st dvd to the total length of the movie is 2:39. So, I think I'll be able to eventually hit 2 hours. The trick is do it in such a way that the film flows naturally and the characters have their arcs largely intact.
So, we'll see how it turns out.
