What's the status of this preservation effort? Would you like some assistance? I have the following:
1. LD TV series box set, including the "making of" Lensman the Movie.
2. Lensman the movie Streamline U.S. version with English and Japanese sound tracks.
3. Lensman VHS (extremely blue color) - not Harmony Gold
4. Lensman VHS (a clean version, not blue - looks like a better copy) - not Harmony Gold
5. I've ripped the LD of these to DVD -R DL on from a CLD-79 Pioneer Elite player using AV1 (RCA cables) to a Samsung VHS/DVD recorder combo...
6. I've also ripped the Streamline Movie (U.S.) LD Japanese version from the DVD I created to an XVID and cleaned it up. The colors are substantially desaturated and contrast is much lower than the film would have been in the theatre release, by the way... attempting to color and contrast correct this now using the "making of" clips as a reference. I've also cleanered up and removed most of the low LD noise, even though I am partial to the slight texture of LD noise...
7. I've likewise made XVID AVI of the "making of", although it isn't touched up at all, and has the tale end of one of the TV series episodes on it...
8. I've got a copy of the VHS as an AVI somewhere too...
In addition, I have the theatrical booklet, a couple of books, and a copy of the Japanese LD CPLP-00073 ordered.
