As always, this is an edit of personal taste. I’m enjoying Ahsoka more than I could have hoped, and whipped this together in an hour or so to watch with some friends in preparation for Part 5 next week.
Hopefully some of you are lucky enough to catch the limited theatre release!

Hi could you pretty please send me the link? If so I will tell you a funny joke!
Ok, shoot.
And is this mixed resolution of 1080p for the open matte and 4k for the other scenes?
The entirety is in 1080p.

This looks great, and is just about blu-ray quality. Is there a chance that open matte footage for Dune exists to give it the same treatment for its corresponding IMAX scenes?
I wish, but nothing’s been forthcoming on the web as of yet. Maybe WB has better internal security than Sony… Hopefully some kind benefactor can liberate an open-matte version at some point.
Updated this edit to a better quality encode, re-did the titles and adjust some of the episode transitions. Oh, and made a poster:
A reserved fanedit that shows just how much fun can be had when you don’t stop for a quip or an applause shot every five seconds.
Cut some jokes, adjusted some moments with Han and Q’ira, skipped some of the more gratuitous fan service moments, added and tweaked couple of deleted scenes, and gave the film a complete colour regrading.

I’ve now watched it in its entirety. All in all this is a really good effort that combines a lot of neat ideas in one package. I like that it streamlines and rearranges a lot of the stuff in TFA and TLJ to great effect, despite creating some small issues by cutting the Finn & Rose sidequest altogether.
Sadly it also makes TROS stick out even more. That movie just is what it is and I’m not even sure if more can be done about it. I’d actually be up for a 3h24m edit of just the TFA and TLJ parts but that’s obviously not the aim of this edit.
Thank you for your thoughts! That’s a fair criticism on both parts, I feel. With TrOS, my fear was that I started “trying to polish a turd while getting crap on everything else in the process”, but it is what it is.
Jedi do have incredibly heightened senses and reflexes, yes, but in my mind there’s another reason they’re so preternaturally skilled at “blocking” laser bolts: lightsaber blades attract them like magnets.
Something to do with the forcefield that keeps the blade intact, or the way the energy is generated from the kyber crystal, makes nearby laser bolts ‘bend’ toward it, deflecting them harmlessly. It does this so quickly, though, that it’s almost imperceptible to the naked eye. So despite appearances, the laser-deflection is thanks not only to Jedi reflexes, but also ancient technology.
This is an open secret among the Jedi themselves, but something they generally don’t mention to outsiders in order to inflate the mythic quality of the all-powerful Jedi.
Edit is complete! I’ll send some PM’s 😃
If possible I’d love to see this.
Thanks!
Sure thing.

This is a straightforward fanedit of what has, despite itself, become one of my favourite films of this century. My main goals were threefold:
Expand all scenes on The Grid to 16:9 using the ‘open matte’ version, while keeping all real-world scenes in standard 2.39:1. This better serves to illustrate the transition between worlds, and allows you to ogle all of the lovely set design.
Cut back on Quorra’s doe-eyed devotion to Sam slightly. I’ve always felt this note was hit a little too often and bluntly throughout the film, and this edit attempts to frame her fascination with him as largely synonymous with her wonder at the ‘outside’ world.
De-Disney the final chase scene slightly. In trying to keep with the family-friendly tone, the filmmakers over-compensated somewhat here and detracted from what should be a gripping third act.
