Yet ANOTHER DVD boxed set...*sigh*
Time

I haven't read all seven pages of this thread, only the first one. But has no one noticed that the special features listed for the PT are the exact same as the ones listed on the already released 2 disc sets? This isn't a new release guys, its the old release in a new "pretty" box. I won't be spending any money on it especially since I display my saga chronologically with Clone Wars inbetween Episodes 2 and 3 so a box would be useless to me.

The OT however may be a different story. Since this has already been shown to be just a cheap grab for money, as evidenced by the PT package, this probably IS just a repackage of the 2006 discs. But since the OT has never had a 2-disc (bonus disc) set we may get lucky and we may get new a new special features disc (I was so pissed when the original DVD boxset had only a single bonus disc instead of three). We may be able to draw parrallels between SW and Indiana Jones which was originally released in a 4 disc boxset like SW and has recently be released in 2-disc versions and a 6 disc set to tie in with the new movie. If the OT comes with new features, I'll probably buy it. I'm a sucker for special features I never watch.

But I can PROMISE you the OT boxset will NOT have an animorphic version of the OUT. The 2006 discs were essentially a giant middle finger to the fans. Lucas had said previously that the OUT was dead in his mind and would never be released again. He eventually caved to the public outcry and gave the fans what they wanted but using the least effort possible. And even then it still wasn't the original versions it was the THX was it not? (I could be mistaken). The ONLY way we might see a high quality animorphic transfer of the OUT would be as a bonus limited edition with his planned 6 movie "Archive Edition" which is supposed to include his "final" cut of all six movies (yes, that means PT: SE and OT: SEv3) and supposedly every bit of bonus features they can get their hands on. Rumour had it he was waiting for the HD wars to end before releasing this, so now that Blu-ray is the clear winner, I'd be expecting this in 3 years or so given his slow pace when it comes to releasing new stuff. I wouldn't hold your breath for anything new until the archive edition though.
