I like the idea, but I agree too many short scenes. I’d arrange it a little differently and cut a bit more:

  • Begin with the crawl, scroll down in space to the ship.
  • Cut the stuff with the captain/Nute Gunray/etc.
  • First interior shot should just be Qui-Gonn/Obi-Wan enter, what’s in the mock-up is good. They should be our first characters we see.
  • Move on to Gunray talking to Palpy as we saw in the mock-up, then go from that to a cut where they are told they have the transmission from Amidala.
  • Then to Amidala talking to the Jedi Council which gives us a nice flow. Which then ends with them discussing “that can only mean invasion” which leads to -->
  • Then the ship explosion, but no need to show the captain/co-captain, all we need is to see the exterior/explosion.
  • And then to the Jedi reaction/fight.

All of that flows and shouldn’t have the choppy feel to it. (I don’t think.)

TCW: The Complete Movie Series
Time

I’ve come up with a list of necessary episodes too that also is 14 movies, but that is just with a list of eps before trying to edit or anything. When actually editing, it will probably be less. I also have a different list of eps than you do. I looked at what actually had any permanence, and honestly cheated a bit on some arcs that I know aren’t faves (like I know almost everyone hates the D-Squad arc, but I loved it, and the Mortis arc could be removed too). Also, I would cut a crap-ton of the Martez arc down and pretty much move that into the Siege of Mandalore/final "Episode. So taking those three out would get me down to 11 alone, before any other edits.

So here would be my list of eps that I consider important to the overall saga, feel of it. And while doing it, I’d probably cut other things as well. I moved some eps around, grouped them together and such. Obviously, again, this would be before editing, transitions, trims, etc.

Then we have the ship landing, see the grave markings, and then do the white flashback fade cut to the lightsaber in Ahsoka’s hand to show the flashback is over. From that we have the end of the scene to Darth Vader. Cut to the beginning of Ahsoka’s “Tales of the Jedi” episode, “Resolve” up to Bail given her a way to reach out to him. END. (Unknown time)

Tales of the Jedi (Dooku episodes) + TCW

I wish we could have seen dooku meeting sidious for the first time finding out palpatine and sidious were One in the same turning on syfo dyas starting the clone army etc. those pieces shouldn’t have been excluded not even remotely.

I agree, but I like how this gives us more of a story on him, and fleshes him out in between AOTC and ROTS. I’m slowly building my ultimate epic SW Saga movie collection that will include my preferred movie edits, tv show edits into films, etc. And this will now be part of it.

I considered this- they add up to 45 minutes so aren’t a movie on their own, but I think the main concern trying to make a movie from it is that Dooku doesn’t have much character in TCW beyond cartoon villainy. The most interesting Dooku stuff is probably the Nightsisters arc, though that’s not really a Dooku story, and perhaps Scipio, where he’s involved in fairly “Imperial” stuff but again he’s not a major focus. But probably best, you do have the Yoda arc going into Sifo-Dyas, which gives some good Dooku/Sidious stuff too, that could work.

Ah, I was thinking of the Sifo-Dyas arc myself! I think that might be it after all!

Tales of the Jedi (Dooku episodes) + TCW

I really loved the Dooku episodes in TotJ, and was wondering, but I don’t know TCW well enough to know the answer to this. Has anyone thought of a way of creating a movie or multiple movies with the Dooku eps from TotJ with some of his Clone Wars episodes?

ETA:

Eddie Dean had a great idea to use Yoda’s Sifo-Diyas quest and I think that would really work. I looked at them all and I think it could totally work like this, cutting "Choices, and slipping “Justice” in as a flashback right after Dooku chooses to not attend Qui-Gon Jinn’s funeral.

  • “The Sith Lord” (“Justice” contained within this episode)
  • “The Lost One”
  • “Voices”
  • “Destiny”
  • “Sacrifice”

The total running time would be 137 minutes before any cuts, transitions that might be necessary. Not sure what I would call it yet. But I like how it shows why Dooku was turned, how they tried to turn Yoda, but yet he did not. There’s a nice symmetry there. And it would fit nicely between AOTC/ROTS/TCW at some point because it contains key characters (Anakin, OBW, QGJ, Palpy, Dooku, Ahsoka, etc.)

I spend the last week finishing my attempt at an fast paced Opening for TPM.
Key plot points are:

-new status quo at the beginning of the movie: The Trade Federation isn’t even in the picture yet, the main conflict is the tension between the Gungan (Warriors) and the Naboo (Pacifist)*

-the Jedi are send to diffuse the situation

-The Trade Federation exploit the instability and invades the planet

-The Jedi save the queen and speed away

But see for yourself:

I really like this EXCEPT I would move the Palpatine/Trade Federation scene to before the invasion starts so that we go from them saying the invasion is on track to the invasion and then from that to QGJ and OWK coming from the Gungan place. That would flow better.

Wouldn’t you want to wait for the season to finish first?

Editors here did the same thing with Obi-Wan. I will never understand editing a project before it’s even done. You simply don’t know what is going to happen with a show until the season is over and “fixing” something before it’s even done? It just personally saddens me that people are so quick to correct the hard work that people have put into these shows, assume this or that doesn’t matter that they can’t even wait until the show is over. But that’s just me, I suppose.

I don’t really see any problem getting a head start or discussing with other people edit ideas for an ongoing show. If it saddens you to see people edit away peoples hard work on shows, maybe the fan editing section of the forums isn’t something for you?

The fan editing forum isn’t for me because I said that editing ONGOING series saddens me? The vast majority of fan-edits in this forum is for finished projects. My comment was based on the fact that editing while a show is in progress discounts the hard work that the showrunners have done because (I personally feel–this is just my opinion) there are elements that could come into play that won’t be revealed until the project is finished. By editing before the project is finished and editing out this or that, there is an assumption that this or that isn’t important. But they could be important, but the fan-editor doesn’t know that because the project is not finished. And that I feel is a disservice to the hard work put in by the showrunners and all involved because the finished product hasn’t been seen. But that’s just my personal opinion on the matter.

As I said, to each their own. (And I would have left it at my first comment had you not made yours.) Still, as Eddie Dean said: You do you.

I’m totally with you on this, buddy. What some people think of as padding, I just think of as fabric and texture. I’ve never had a problem with downtime spent in the Star Wars universe without necessarily pushing the plot forward. And I do wish we’d see more ideas/collaborative threads producing a small number of community edits rather than a lot of individual edits (as we saw with Kenobi).

I so agree with you. I ADORE the community threads for the PT that (I believe) you started. I have just had an absolute blast reading those. One day – probably when I’m retired, LOL – I plan on going through those threads and cherry-pick my favorite ideas.

Revenge of the Sith (The New Canon Cut) [ON HOLD INDEFINITELY]

I am in the minority in that I simply am not a big fan of ROTS much at all and all of your changes pretty much articulate why, so even if this is unpolished, I’d love to see what you’ve done. And, yes, if you ever do go back to it – hey Kenobi seems to have inspired you a bit, it could be cool to revisit it.

So, pretty please hit me up with a link!

Deepfake Ideas - Index and Discussion
Time

That Anakin one looks great. Honestly, other than the hair/beard color, I really don’t think Obi-Wan facially looks that much different. {shrugs} My big issue, is that I’d really prefer that it be Anakin post AOTC – with a different lightsaber and the hand-issue. I think that would fit better with ROTS. I’m unlike many in that ROTS doesn’t really work for me, but this series could possibly – with an edit of the two together finally make it work. I think this fight scene taking place in ROTS would work better in terms of his aggression personally to show that build-up. Alas, it’s not just the deep-fake, but the other two things with him.
