35mm FEATURE FILM! Star Wars: A New Hope
On the 35mm Forum, there is a guy from Italy, Marco Tealdi, who is selling a 35mm print of Titanic for 1500€, plus shipping, but there are some catches:
One, it’s an Italian language dub (one of our members, Jetrell Fo, may have the Cinema DTS discs for this movie in English, as he had started his DTS Audio Preservation thread, so, the digital soundtrack can be sync’d to this print)
Two, the credits are in Italian, ex.

That seller at 35mm Forum posted that hold status back in February 26th, over a month ago. No update was made since, so, yesterday, I contacted the seller to inquire about the status.
The prints have been sold. The seller just didn’t update his thread to indicate that, which he later did after my inquiry.
He was selling the prequel trilogy for $3000.
Currently, the plans and workflow only allow so many projects to be worked on. Ultimately, there will be at least 2 main versions of each film released.
1 Star Wars LPP with Eastman replacements, this is the first priority.
The rest of the projects will be in parallel.
2 Empire Strikes Back - Sanitized - [Eastman-Fuji hybrid]
3 Star Wars [Eastman]
4 Return of the Jedi [LPP Hybrid]
5 Empire Strikes Back [Fuji]
6 Return of the Jedi [Eastman]And then the SE, and the Prequels.
So there’s a lot to look forward to next year and beyond.

… I think 35mm scans of AotC and RotS would be far easier to bring in line with the OT than the pristine Digital sources we have.
Now that Team Negative One is no more, I think we should, at least, consider the possibility of using a scan of this film’s 35mm print to the project.
I would recommend that you create a whole new thread for your 2001 project. And when you do, I would recommend that you describe, in detail, what your goals are for this 2001 project, especially since you are asking members, here, to contribute monetarily.
I feel that if the members are aware of what you intend to do for this print, you may find a like-minded person, or two that will give to that course.
I, for one, will look forward to see what you have in mind for the print, even though I am, at the moment, satisfied with the current home video release. For all I know, I may be blown away by what you may have come up with later.

If someone can do an audio presentation of an English language track from out of the LD or Blu Ray, then this American-Boy would appreciate it.😃Unfortunately, I don’t have the patience to read subtitles and look at the film images for an entire feature-length time.
If the first thing that gets released is a get-and-dirty, grindhouse Italian edition, then this edition, combined with the edit of a English audio track would tide me over until the next version arrives.
I’m starting to warm-up to the grindhouse quality of popular films, so, this said version will be welcomed with me.
I don’t know how the audio for the this-is-a-record-of-my-escape prelude will be handled. Perhaps, one could leave the Italian audio from the film there and use English subtitles.
I would donate again, but since thxita is posting the names of donors on the first post, I feel that I should let someone else have a chance to be among the heroes of this preservation 😉

I saw these the other day and scrubbed around in the MKV to see if they were correct,and most of them are off by the better part of a minute. I guess it’s close enough, but I’d hoped someone had figured out a list for this particular release.
When I was preparing this chapter menu, I notice that between the time codes on my menu and the ones on the DVD/Blu Ray menu from chapterdb, this release is approximately 22 seconds longer. The DTS logo, included in this release, is 17 seconds long. As for the remaining 5 seconds: the extra pitch black space between the end of the DTS logo and the Universal logo; and /or the extra pitch black space after the end credits may be the culprits.

A note about my procedure:
This is not a cut and paste job from Chapterdb. I ran this video through my media player, MPC- HC , selected points in the video where I’ve selected my chapter stops, and wrote down the player’s timecode in hh:mm: ss:mm when in freeze-frame.
There is a difference between the chapter shops between the official Blu Ray release and mine for this release. The official Blu Ray tends to put the chapter markers at scenes where they are in the middle of effects transitional wipes–horizontal, vertical, clock-motions, etc. My markers are positioned at scenes where the effects transitional wipes are done.
I will admit that most of the chapter names are taken from Chapterdb, but on some chapters I’ve changed the names.

I feel that if a person donates to a project like this, he shouldn’t have to have the hassle of going through a torrent to get the completed project.
Perhaps if this project can be uploaded for a limited time. The link of this project can be sent to those that donated to the project and they will have limited time to download it before the file is removed.
