And about Luke not actually being a great pilot because he gets helped a couple times, agree you forgetting he and wedge are the only ones who even survive?

There’s a Y-wing flying away at the end too.

If only three Rebel pilots survived the DS battle, then who the heck are all these guys?

I presume they were keeping the majority of TIE fighters occupied elsewhere while designated squadrons made the trench runs, and flew off in a different direction once Luke made a successful torpedo shot.

Maybe the pilots at the end of A New Hope are brand new pilots that jumped ship from the Imperial Academy and they just finished their Rebel indoctrination. The awards ceremony at the end of the movie could’ve taken place a few days after the Battle of Yavin unless otherwise stated in the shooting script.

LOL, These were the cowards that declined to go with the squadron on the assault on the Death Star, or maybe their star fighters were all being worked on in the hangar…

I’ve found evidence of the 12 movies bit.

Interesting video, though doesn’t it in fact confirm 13 movies, not 12? This advert from 1979 is speaking in the knowledge that Star Wars is already out two years beforehand and says “GL and 20TH CF have plans for twelve more block-busting chapters to the Star Wars story”.

It’s weird because I remember hearing over the years once the PT started that there were plans for 9 movies all up, then it was 12 and of course a couple of years before TFA, it was only ever meant to be 6 movies…yeah, sure George, whatever you say George…dickhead

I agree it does imply 13, I think that may have just been Kenners interpretation; but he is always bait and switch so who knows. I blame his issues with Gary Kurtz and his divorce for the lack of SW films released to date.

SW:ANH

I found your problem. You should watch Star Wars. That’s a much better movie than A New Hope.

Nope, I grew up watching Star Wars, ANH was a decent chance to revitalize my desire to watch the movie. It was a wonderful groundbreaking movie for it’s time, but out of everything it is the most dated and the most filled with flaws and things I would have like to have seen them actually change for today’s viewing audience.

If Shaw is used, this is the only version Luke would recognize:

He would recognise him more than some mop-haired kid that just appears. Just a couple of scars and no hair doesn’t make him unrecognizable at all. Information is not easily available under the oppression of a regime like the Empire. He couldn’t just look up information about his father. The Emperor would have suppressed all of that. If it was so easy for Luke to look up info on his father, then it wouldn’t have been too hard for him to discover that he became Vader.

Anakin appearing as his younger self is ridiculous. So, one of the most evil men in the galaxy can suddenly return to his youth, while the other two jedi have to remain their older selves? And the fan theories about how he returns to his form when he was last a good man is also ridiculous. Not only is he NOT a good man on the light side of the force when he looked like that, ( He had already begun on the path to the dark side, He had, after all, slaughtered a whole village of Tuskens, including the women and children, out of anger long before he looked like that), but that also completely destroys the whole redemption arc of ROTJ. Anakin turns back to the light side prior to his death. Him becoming a force ghost originally symbolized that. Before the rubbish that they had to learn it, which Anakin had no knowledge of, so couldn’t have become a force ghost. God, the prequels screwed so much up in the OT

No sir, imagine Luke visiting his father for the first time, and Anakin has stage 4 cancer. He is not able to spend a lot of time with him before he dies. He then goes and sees a picture in a family photo album of his mother standing next to other family members and a guy he doesn’t quite recognize. His mother mentions to him that the man in the photo is his father who just passed. Luke has to do a double take because the man in the photo doesn’t look a thing like the man he went to the hospital to meet after his chemo treatments.

Debunk numero Dos, Obi-Wan was able to watch Anakin via hologram from the jedi temple archives, surely you cannot tell me that Obi didn’t download and store anything on a USB 3.0 thumbdrive… Come one Ady… logic would dictate that they were able to do such things.

Luke should not be able to recognize neither Hayden nor Sebastian, only Uncle Fester. I am not in the camp that believes the whole young Anakin force ghost, but the Normal looking Sebastian is ridiculous as well. It only makes sense to the audience that Hayden show up as Anakin, but cause that is who we identify as Anakin, not Sebastian. But if they were to add a shot in ANH where Luke could see his jedi version of his father before he turned (the tusken incident was not a full turn in my opinion) in hologram form from the Jedi Temple surveilance holograms, then it would make more sense for Luke to be able to recognize a younger version of Anakin. The Emperor deleted everything about Anakin after Yoda and Obi left the temple so that no one would learn the man behind Vader.

Thank you for your response mate!

I would love to hear the reasoning in putting ANH fifth.

Mine are ranked in rewatchability order

I would love to hear why you consider ANH fifth in rewatchability.

My first four picks I find more pleasure in watching. Watching SW:ANH is like not fast forwarding the Lois Lane flying scene in Superman: The movie.

-Hayden as Anakin’s ghost. It doesn’t make sense for him to appear as an unscarred Shaw because he never looked like that.

And yet you think it makes sense for him to appear in the Jedi robes that he never wore? And how the hell would Luke even recognise him. It makes more sense for him to be Shaw than it does Hayden.

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

Yeah, just have Luke use the force to suspend the hilt in the air as he dragged his father from the throne room all the way to the nearest hangar bay! 😃

For the Tydirium, you could use the transport from ANH that dropped off the stormtroopers on Tatooine or the one from Rogue One…

When Han tells Chewie to “fly casual” I would like to see the shuttle to a barrel roll or a loop de loop, lol

It makes sense for the Audience to see Hayden, it made more sense in the 80’s to see Shaw, but Shaw was Fubar with unhealed scars and bald so the Shaw with hair was just as unrecognizable.

Actually, in the SW universe, Luke knew his father was Anakin Skywalker, and after Ben told Luke that his father was a jedi and not what his uncle told him; he would have been easy to Google through the SW archives. Their technology is way beyond ours. It would have been great for in ANH when Ben gave Luke his father’s saber to also have had a hologram of Hayden for Luke to see. Would have been a great addition when Luke said, “I wish I knew him.” That would have also made it easier for Luke to identify his father’s jedi ghost at the end of the 6th film.
