Misc. Doctor Who Edits (Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors) (Released)
Time

Thanks for understanding...besides, I think it's a bit funny for Clara to be all releived when she sees Eleven, he says "hello", then cuts right to him removing the bow-tie, that optimistic look on her face drains away instantly, and then he readies for the end and boom, there you go Twelve.

It works a lot better than how I describe it...at least in my estimation

Anyhoo, I completed my take on Bells of St. John and it's up on my blog, so if you want a link to that site just pm me. There's nothing too radical about it, as all the major changes are at the beginning, but it's a nice alternative.

Now I'm currently working on The Snowmen

Misc. Doctor Who Edits (Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors) (Released)
Time

Currently I’ve been delving into various edits of Doctor Who, starting with the Eleventh Doctor and working my way through Capaldi’s turn as the Twelth, currently the projects are:

Eleventh Doctor

-The Angels Take Manhattan: Added "The Inforarium" minisode to the beginning of the episode as new pre-credits and ended the episode with Amy and Rory surviving, the “Good as Gold” minisode is added at the end

-The Bells of St. John: Not altogether that radically different from the original cut, just with a minisode attached to the pre-credits and a scene moved up, also removed is the obvious info dump at the beginning. Everything else remains the same

-Name of the Doctor: Again, added a minisode as the pre-credits (“Clarence and the Whispermen”) and bumped bits of Clara traveling through The Doctor’s time stream at the start to nearer the climax of the episode. Also edited out her telling Hartnell’s Doctor which TARDIS to nick

-Time of the Doctor: Loads changed here, all references to nudity holograms, Eleven’s final speech, Amy’s ghost appearing etc

Twelfth Doctor

-Deep Breath: This edit came out at 45 minutes on both takes, I’ve finished this one it’s just I’m torn on which one to upload for screening. Not all that much removed except the comical stuff with Strax’s examination and the Twelfth Doctor flapping about at the start.

Listen- I’ve managed to turn this into a half-hour story focusing on only the first trip Clara takes with The Doctor.

-Dark Water/Death In Heaven: Haven’t gotten 'round to this yet, but I was thinking of ending it on a cliffhanger with The Doctor uncertain of whether or not to kill Missy/The Master and aiming her weapon at her. Also will kill off Kate and omit Cyber-Brig

Sherlock: The Adventure of Cam (Released)
Time

Hi guys, I thought I'd update you all on what's happened with this as it now stands

PROGRESS: 100% Complete. Edits are now uploaded and available to view. PM me for links

What's This About? Basically to take the three episodes from the third season of the BBC Sherlock series and re imagine them as slightly shorter episodes

Episode One is The Little That Remains, a trim of "The Empty Hearse" (it's named as such because it uses as little of the episode as possible, in addition to being a quote from the Holmes of the novels), removing such things as Sherlock's explanation as to how he survived so there is some aura of mystery to his methods of survival and focuses principally on the case at hand rather than all the storyline details pertaining to the major arc of the series (except for one tiny detail that pays off in the third episode)

Episode Two is "How It Was Done", based off what was cut from "The Empty Hearse" and the pre-credits of "His Last Vow"

Episode Three is Adventure of Cam, it is the culmination of the principle storyline themes of the third series with a more swift and immediate Sherlock and John working out Mary's case.

Running Time for each

1. The Little That Remains-38 minutes
2. How It Was Done-18 minutes
3. The Adventure of CAM-53 minutes

Revised Cutlist

THE LITTLE THAT REMAINS

-Removed Anderson's "bungee cord" theory.

-Added a few minutes of "Many Happy Returns" mini-sode up until Anderson realizes Sherlock is returning. Titles follow.

-Reporters talking about Holmes being vindicated cut.

-John morning Sherlock and going on the tube cut

-John entering the apartment and explaining his upcoming engagement to Mrs. Hudson cut. We end the custom titles on John at the restaurant.

-Sherlock's capture, torture, and meeting with Mycroft cut

-Sherlock being briefed by Mycroft on the terrorist attack cut. Sherlock making plans to surprise John cut

-John explaining his situation to Mrs. Hudson cut

-Sherlock and Molly solving several cases cut

-Jack The Ripper investigation cut

-John's abduction and rescue from the bonfire by Sherlock and Mary cut

-Sherlock meeting with his parents and conversation with John about them being in on his survival cut

-All references to John being abducted and placed in the bonfire cut

-Removed flash of light and fade out when John readies himself for the end

-Removed Sherlock explaining to Anderson how he survived and Anderson's breakdown

-Sherlock meeting Molly's "replacement goldfish" Tom cut

-Charles Augustus Magnusson replaying John's rescue from the bonfire cut, replaced with him investigating Mary’s file

-Added custom “To Be Continued” credit

-Most end credits cut. Will be saved for the third and final installment of the mini-series

SHERLOCK: HOW I DID IT

A mish-mash of scenes taken out of “The Empty Hearse”, such as John’s Bonfire rescue, the “Jack The Ripper” subplot, Sherlock’s explanation to Anderson regarding how he survived, also inserted is the blackmail of Lady Smallwood from “His Last Vow”

SHERLOCK: THE ADVENTURE OF CAM

-We open the episode with Sherlock and John discussing Sherlock going out with Janine and Magnusson. Titles come after Magnusson arrives at the house and walks past Mrs. Hudson.

-The drug den aspect of the plot has been pretty much skipped entirely
-Insert the deleted scene after the lights go out when Mary shoots Sherlock. We don't need all that time-consuming clever clogs method of showing Sherlock having visions of friends and enemies as he tries to recover. Way too much padding disguised as thin drama. Insert "Redbeard" music cue over the deleted scene, end the clip on the shot of the black rose (it's timed perfectly with the music)

-Inserted Christmas dinner at the Holmes house after the meeting at the hospital, with “several months later” text (written in Sherlock font), and the Sherlock/John/Mary confrontation at Baker Street occurs after John shows Mary the memory stick (with “several months earlier text to establish the timeline). From there, we jump back to the present and the bulk of the episode plays out unaltered up to the plane flying off into the horizon and the closing credits interrupted by static.

-Removed “Did you Miss Me” reaction montage of all the cast members, cut immediately to Sherlock answering his phone

-Added custom montage to new ending, inserted Sherlock and Molly kissing from the bunjee cord theory removed from the first edit. Closing credits song is “Thunder In Your Heart” from Stan Bush

Sherlock: The Adventure of Cam (Released)
Time

What’s This About? Essentially takes the three episodes from SHERLOCK’s third series and combines them into one. The bulk of the edit will be “His Last Vow” peppered with essential plot developments from “The Empty Hearse” (Sherlock’s return, Cam abducting Watson etc) and “The Sign of Three” (John and Mary’s wedding)

Currently I’m torn on an ending for this. I could be a proper misery guts and end it with Sherlock going into exile with no trace of the original bait and switch ending, or I could end it with the bait and switch Moriarty ending and have Sherlock hook up with Molly Hooper.

Pryde of the X-Men: Mute Man Logan (Released)
Time

x-men

What’s It About? This is a sixteen-minute trim of the 1980s X-Men pilot episode “Pryde of the X-Men” which minimises Stan Lee’s narration, cuts the commercial fade outs, and, as the title suggests, cuts out any and all instances of Aussie Wolverine speaking.

The quality admitedly isn’t the best (Sourced from an old VHS tape I attained from a stateside friend), but I was able to render it in high def.

Uploaded to Mega and will be availible on Vimeo probably tomorow. PM me for link

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Ninja Encounter: No Baby On Board Edition (Released)
Time

"AYE-AYE-AYE, The Serpent of Darkness has completed it’s transformation"-Alpha 5, "The Ninja Encounter Part Three"

Go Go Power Rangers!

A series known principly amongst fans of the japanese Tokusatsu superhero genre for it’s extensive editing of the popular series Super Sentai into one of the most iconic shows of 1990s childhood,  Power Rangers took various Sentai shows over the course of it’s span and, depending on the creative supervision, either adapted the episodes wholesale from the original or added their own little touch to things. The latter happened with the subject of this edit.

Originally a three-part episode, “The Ninja Encounter”, which introduced us to Rocky, Adam and Aisha, has, over time, become increasingly derided for it’s pointless fight scenes and redudnant second act where the Rangers are continiously split-up and distracted from saving the three teenagers because of Zedd’s monsters Terror Blossom and the returning Hatachasauros, there is an uneccersary and rather childish SEVEN MINUTE sequence involving the teenagers trying to stop a baby carraige. Indeed a lot of the “Baby Joseph” sub-plot with Bulk and Skull stretches a story that could be told in under half an hour to longer than it needed to be

This review from Power Rangers fan TOO-1 from Rangerboard.com puts it all in perspective

This was awful. I mean… unbelievably bad. This was a padding multiparter to fill time until Jason, Zack, and Trini left and it shows. Zedd’s plan was probably his most idiotic to date, making no sense and only serving to show off the cool new kids. The constant running back and forth between goals was completely unneeded, the way they handled the three missing actors was completely atrocious, the pacing was terrible, the writing was perhaps the worst of the show so far…

This did not need to be a three parter. Hell, it could have been done (as I said above) in one (albeit rushed) episode that still would have ended up better. Teens get kidnapped, monster attacks, team splits up, saves the day, tournament, end of episode. Part two had no purpose in existing other than FIGHT SCENES EPIC BRO!

Hands down, the worst episodes of the series at this point. I’m probably getting far too worked up, but my God… I hated every single moment of this three parter and cannot wait to move past it. Judge if you want, I’m standing by everything I just said.

The challenge for this edit was to take the three-parter and transform it into one half-hour story. To this end, I have removed the “team split-up” storyline aspect, leaving it until the very end, removed the bsttle with the Hatachasauros monster, removed Jason, Zack and Trini being frozen by Terror Blossom’s pettals, removed the “hour long” preperation for Zedd’s wooden snake so it conversts immediatly into a real creature and threatnes the teens, and most of the Baby Jacob/Bulk and Skull scenes have also been removed.

007: Skyfall-Prodigal (Released)
Time

It's been a while but I recently got inspired by another Skyfall edit over on FE.org and have decided to completly redo this movie with a few fresh  turns, amongst the changes will be no theme song at all, instead I have taken a much simpler approach that still captures the spirit of 007 without all the bombastic fanfare and spiffy titles.

"Cold" Open (this is the culmination of the nine-minute pre-credits scene)

Superman II: The Prettiest Girl In The Cut (SII/III Hybrid) (Released)
Time

I’ve decided to go back in and redo my earliest fanedit project “Superman II: The Prettiest Girl In The Cut”, this edit will include most of the Lana Lang segments from Superman III and spin the story of II so that instead of Clark pursuing Lois, he pines for Lana and is merly tempted with the power of the red sun chamber, and it is breifly hinted to the viewer that he goes through with it off-screen, and it’s only when he confronts Zod and company at the Planet do we learn he hasnt.

Here’s the timeline and cutlist for the new draft

*Classic Warner. Bros Logo
*Lester opening of Superman II up to the point the criminals break the crystal, then it’s Donner footage

  • After the destruction of Krypton and the fade out from the criminals phantom zone prison, we cut to teen Clark, Brad, and Lana in Smallville, Jonathan’s death
*Titles with John Williams alternative Superman march played
*Immediatly after credits, we cut to Supes diverting the missiles and freeing the Kryptonian criminals (blend of Donner cut and Lester cuts

*Clark has a nightmare of the red sun chamber (footage taken from Lester depowering scene from his cut of II and “Clark’s morning” sequence from Superman IV

*Clark gets the Smallville assignment from Perry. Lois heard but not seen

*Lex and Otis discuss Superman in prison.
*Superman saves the plant, Jimmy’s injury cut
*Clark meets Lana at the dance (trimmed slightly with a bit of a deleted track from Superman IV)
*Lex escapes prison (deleted scene from Donner Cut rather than baloon escape), Warden does not go over-the-top and only says “it’s a break” once…and quietly.
*Clark and Lana tidy up the dance hall, Lana has the “one that got away” line
*Zod and co wreak havoc on the moon
*Clark saves Lana’s kid from the harvester.
*Lex and Tessmarcher at the fortress
*Clark tells Lana Superman will be at Ricky’s party
*Zod and crew touch down. Zod’s “very strange surface” line cut
*Superman honored by Smallville for saving Ricky
*Zod and crew terrorize town further, Ursa’s killing of the snake cut.
*Love struck Supes makes a diamond for Lana (borrowed sequence from ADM’s Superman Redeemed edit)
*Lana decides to travel to Metropolis (“tomorow” line cut for continuity reasons)
*Zod and crew continue to attack the little Idaho town, news begins to spread of the assault.
*Clark and Jor-El have a talk in the fortress. Jor-El brings up the crystal chamber. Scene heavily trimmed to omit shots of Lois.
*Zod and crew conclude their terrorizing of the town
*Clark visits Lana and gives her the diamond. The audience does not know if Clark used the chamber.
*Zod and crew attack washington and the White House (borrowed a very small bit from Selutron’s Superman II edit samples for this)
*Clark, Lana and Ricky at the bowling alley.
*Lex visits the villains
*Daily Planet attack by Zod and crew, conveying to the audience that he didnt use the chamber after all.
*Everything proceeds up to the Fortress, Supes tricks Zod and crew into depowering
*No Fortress destruction, no Clark/Lois kissing, no balcony farewell. No turning back time.
*Superman saves the kid at Niagra Falls, Lois begins joining the dots regarding Clark and Superman
*Supes flies past sun and winks at the camera

And here’s a rough draft of my ending
