but you can never say something like this is truly finished.

An artists work is never done! I’ve only just become aware of 4k83 but have been enjoying despecialized for quite some time. Despecialized is quite noisy when viewed at 4k so very interested in this - particularly 4k83. Definitely want to have a look at 1.4 vs 1.6 myself but can only find 1.6 so far and I’m not on the guest lists at Myspleen or thestarwarstrilogy.com…so 1.6 it will have to be for now unless anyone can tell me otherwise.

Look at the 4k77 thread here, there’s an invite code to the starwarstrilogy forums, hopefully it’s still working:)

HI,

I’ve been pointed to this direction regarding the 4Kxx films. I’ve been wondering for some time on how to download it. Now if I’ve done my homework correctly, it states that you can download it from various sources of private torrent trackers by likes of Myspleen. Since its ‘private’, registration is closed and access is obviously restricted. I’ve learned however, that 4Kxx content can also be accessed from its dedicated website:
https://forums.thestarwarstrilogy.com/. Like Myspleen, it to is restricted unless given an invite code from a forum member. Rather than going through all this trouble on trying to make a Myspleen account and such, I would much prefer downloading it from the website if deemed possible. Any help on matter is much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Kind Regards

You can download them from Usenet BUT I don’t think all the versions are on there and if you want to do it for free it will be very slow (like around a week, with you having to check up on it every 3 hours!). Also it’s kinda complicated, I don’t fully understand the process lol, but there is a really good guide on the forum: https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Guide-to-Downloading-Projects-from-Usenet/id/69476
Hope this was useful!

<strong>4K77</strong> - Released
Time

Hi, I currently have the DNR version of 4K77, but I’ve heard that 1.4 is a big improvement. I’ve also heard about a few other versions so I’m a bit confused as to which is the latest/best.
I have heard about a skywaker/skymaster edition, not sure what that is. Also I think there is a colour correction by DrDre but I’m not sure if that has been released yet. Any information would be great, thanks.

<strong>4K77</strong> - Released
Time

I have the film now and it looks amazing! The only problem I’m having is that the playback is very choppy/laggy at the start. After about 5 minutes it plays fine. And it always gets stuck on exactly the same parts every time. After it gets stuck it starts but is very choppy and there is no sound. But if I pause and go back it plays fine!
I and viewing the 4k on my TV through an external harddrive.

If anyone could give me any advice I’d really appreciate it. Most of the film plays fine and it is honestly the best I’ve ever seen star wars.

<strong>4K77</strong> - Released

Hello,
From my understanding the DNR version of 4k77 only had one release whereas the non-DNR version had been colour corrected. I personally prefer the DNR version but I was wondering would I be missing much by not having the colour corrected version. Is there a big difference?

Also I’ve learnt that there are a few different versions of 4K83 DNR but I can’t seem to find them on binsearch.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I’m new to this forum.

Info Wanted: Newest versions of 4KXX projects
Time

Hello, I’m new to this forum and this have only recently learnt about all these preservation projects. I am interested in the 4K projects. And have read that they do not have the most accurate colours but updates have been made to improve this. Hence, I was wondering what are the most up to date versions of 4K77 and 4K83 currently available.
Sorry if this question has already been asked before, I’m still quite new to this site.

Thanks,
YRK01

Guide to Downloading Projects from Usenet
Time

Hello, I am new to this forum and don’t really know anything about Usenet. The guide is really detailed and useful but I was just wondering about renewing my account every three hours during the download. What happens if I’m accidentally too late, is there a way to get the download back?
Also how long would you reckon 4k77 would take to download using free-usenet?

Once again thank you for making this guide for people like me who have no clue how to use this stuff.
