THE STAR WARS SAGA - 1080P AVCHD DVD-9 for PS3 & Blu-Ray players - Episodes 1, 4 & 5 available now
Time

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Negative 1.  I love the 1080p Adywan transfers and am continually amazed at new areas of detail that I see every time I watch them.  I have a 46" Sony LCD and am blown away by the quality compared to a regular DVD, even when upscalled on my BD player.

I too am eagerly awaiting the 15G version that Ady is going to release and suspect that there will be even higher image quality.  It's a real shame that his 15G of ANH won't be available...

Cheers,

WL

I'm no expert and will happily be proved wrong on this but I'm fairly certain that the FAT32 4GB max file size only prevents larger files from being read or copied when connecting an external HDD to a PS3 via USB.

I cetainly managed to copy ANH to my PS3s HDD last night via media streaming (over a wired connection - PC > router > PS3) and it played perfectly striaght off the PS3 HDD this morning although I only watched the first 20 minutes!

I have other 9/10GB files (VOBs) on my PC that stream fine to the PS3 over WMP11.  I am going to try the same technique of copying them diretly to the PS3 HDD later....

Hmm, instead of burning a disc, I wanted to mount the iso and copy the  .m2ts over to my PS3. However when I try to mount it, I receive the "invalid file type" error. I installed the UDF 2.5 driver, rebooted, and even tried using another application to mount the image. I still get an error message.

I'd rather not go buy a stack of DVD 9's just for this; So does anyone have any idea's what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

I did this last night and it works perfectly.  Now admittedly I had already burnt a DVD9 of this release but I 'opened' the disc on my PC, coppied and pasted the folders onto my PC's HDD.  I then navigated to this through my PS3 using Windows Media Player 11 sharing, pressed the green triangle and coppied the files onto the PS3s HDD.

It plays perfectly straight from my PS3 HDD.

Next step is to bypass the need to physically burn a DVD9 and I'm guessing that something like ImgBurn will do the trick.  Set to output files rather than burn I would imagine.  Going to try that this evening.  If it works, I can see a PS3 HDD upgrade looming fast!

Adywan, your work is truly amazing. I'm sure you probably hear that all the time, but I thought I'd say it again. If you're not working in computer animation you should be. I was blown away by all the changes you made for Star Wars Revisited. I didn't expect anything as high quality as what you produced. I am very much looking forward to your HD versions of the original trilogy.

I'm currently trying to get ahold of the AVCHD PS3 releases and usenet.com is driving me insane. I found the files under filesearch but none will download. Now the alt.binaries.x264 server is apparently down completely. I was luckily able to get ahold of the DVD 9 version of Star Wars Revisited pretty quickly. I'm a Usenet newbie, so I'm still fumbling around a lot.

If anyone can't get on usenet and wants some help obtaining any of these, let me know.

I currently have Ep 1-6 Wookiegroomer DVD-9 HD.

Wookiegroomer's Ep 4-6 12 gig versions.

Star Wars Revisited DVD-9.

Anyone want to help me obtain the PS3AVCHD files I would greatly appreciate it! :)

PM sent : )

I am watching Wookie Groomers 12 gig Episode 3 right now and I simply cannot believe how good it looks and sounds. The playback on my PC is perfect.

You are a genius Wookie Groomer and when these finally show up on Blu-ray I can't imagine them looking any better than they do here.

Agree 100%.  Wookie Groomer has done amazing work with these transfers and they look fantastic playing off my PC stright onto my big screen. I've had the original trillogy 12gb transfers for some time but have been looking for the 12gb versions for ages so huge thanks to the re-poster of these.

I have gotten Episode 1 and 3 of the 12gb, but am having big problems getting Episode 2.  I've tried a couple of times over the last few days but keep getting missing or damaged file errors.  Is anyone else having difficulties and if not can anyone help me with Episode 2 please.

Cheers, WL

May I second Dunedain's request for a repost of Ep1-3 of these encodes? A lot of people seemed to have missed out on them, and even though I have a Giganews account, the only thing I could find 170 days back is a post of "Addicted To Star Wars v2", which is a nice gimmick (cool idea WookieGroomer) to have but unfortunatly not really suited for a serious evening at the (home) movies, if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

"Here, here"...!!!  I'd be great to see a repost of Wookie's Ep1-3 13gb.....

Anybody...??!!!

Seems that there are quite a few folks out there who are realy keen to get ahold of these fantastic Wookiegroomer 13gb 1080p transfers.

I am fortunate to have the OT, episodes 4, 5 & 6 and they are magnificant - huge kudos to Wookiegroomer. I've posted here and on other threads asking for help in obtaining the prequels but sadly to no avail.

I have also emailed Wookiegroomer and asked if he'd consider re-posting all six on Usenet but he replied and said that he's done this on several occasions in the past and has no intention of doing it again. I understand his point but it seems a huge shame to me as there are clearly many fans of his work who have missed out on these which are far and away the most superior versions ever produced IMHO, simply by becoming aware of them too late....

Nevertheless I am very happy to assist anyone who wants episodes 4,5 and 6.

Please drop me a PM....

Cheers,

[quote=rubix]are episodes 1-3 on newsgroups? i got 4-6 but don't see 1-3 (with a 100 day retention). can they be reposted?

Hi everyone!! I'm new around here - came across these brilliant forums looking for the Adywan edit :)

I'm with Rubix above.....I'd also love to see a re-post on Usenet of the 13gb 1080p versions of episodes 1-3 if possible?
