Have you looked at the successor to that project? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sith_Lords_Restored_Content_Modification
I’m currently playing through it on my Android tablet.

Yes, I’ve played it twice. But the original project was better imho. The leaked torrent was really good. TSLRCM could have used the TSLRP animations. I think they used a few, actually, but the ending scenes are much blander in the latter. Oh well, still worth it.

For something that was meant to be ready in early May, I think it’s safe to assume this project will see the light of day much later than expected, if at all. It kind of reminds me when I was young and they released Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and out of nowhere came this ‘Team Gizka’ who declared they were making a The Sith Lords Restoration Project (TSLRP) and it never came to be, except for a leaked torrent. People often have more important things to do and put the project in the background till it’s forgotten.

Another example is this band from Norway that has promised to release an album years ago and all they needed were the bass lines. The bass player went to a medicine college and after 7 or 8 years, not a single bass track was recorded. The whole project is in some informatic limbo no one has access to.

When you are in the middle of a project that has an interested audience, never give people a date unless it’s seriously, really, nearly done.

I guess this fan edit is an example of that phenomenon. I’ll check back on it next year.

The original idea for the scrapped film was much better. Vader would remain a badass, nearly killing Obi-Wan, who would have luckily escaped. Vader would think that Obi-Wan had died, but still with doubts as to whether he had survived or not, as Vader would not have seen him dead, necessarily. The best ending for both, and one that would make more sense within the chronology.

Vader was pathetic at the end of the series, and Obi-Wan was a coward.

I liked the duel and dialogue. But I think that was something I expected on the feature films, not in a TV series. I think George Lucas went too far with Anakin as a kid on Episode I and Anakin as a jedi on episodes II and III. Episode III should feature an insanely dangerous Anakin/Darth Vader hybrid of sorts and their last meeting before Episode IV should be something akin to what they did in the series. Then it would make much more sense when they are both on the Death Star and Vader is feeling Obi-Wan’s presence.

But I think you are right, Vader should end up in the upper hand and think Obi-Wan is weak and a fool. Perhaps it can be modified in a way that it looks like Vader was somehow at an unfair disadvantage? Like… “yeah, Obi-Wan only won that match because he cheated, the old man.”

The Clone Wars: Refocused [COMPLETE] + Subtitles for season one!
Time

Okay, I have finished season 1. Here follows my feedback with the versions I watched.

s01e05 - The 501st Legion (v2.3)

I think that the story of the domino squad is cut short. How do they move up from a failed team to real troopers? It feels like there is this unanswered matter.

s01e07 - The Death Watch (v2.1)

I think Ahsoka’s punishment should be removed from the start and perhaps moved to the end of the previous episode, because it’s not really relevant to the episode, but it is relevant to the previous one. And episode 9 later on.

s01e08 - Children of Night (v2.1)

Maybe this has been brought up earlier, but this should come later. It’s visible that Anakin and Obi-Wan are dressed differently and thus it’s a posterior event.

s01e10 - The Future of the Force (v2.1)

The final scene is out of context and completely unnecessary. It feels like the lightsaber comment from Ahsoka should have some previous node, which is not the case, and Ahsoka’s motivation are not clear here, except to show the children, which seems… uh… maybe the word is… gratuitous? I don’t know, it just doesn’t fit, in my opinion.

The rest I’ve found to be an enjoyable experience, and much of the fat is indeed gone. Good work!

I’ll be back for the review of season 2.

The Clone Wars: Refocused [COMPLETE] + Subtitles for season one!
Time

Hey, I’m watching series 01 now. It’s good, I enjoy the cuts. I’ll make a better review later when I’m done.

Not sure this was asked before, but is there a plan to incorporating the Bad Batch into this series? It’s kind of a successor to the Clone Wars, isn’t it? Although it is rather single-threaded.

I like the thing about showing the phasing out of clones and their replacing with Stormtroopers, the whole arc about Kamino and the disbanding of the grand army.

I would like to see a Rebels cut as well, but I don’t really care or fancy re-watching that space whales nonsense that kind of put the final chapter into Disney-eske territory. Also, Ezra and Zeb are annoying most of the time. If my mind doesn’t fail me, the last 2 series of Rebels get into that kyber crystal business to build the Death Star, which connects to the whole plot of Rogue One, albeit tangentially. (Useless trivia time, there is a Chopper cameo on Rogue One.) Well, perhaps Rebels is not part of the whole project, but we do have some important Ahsoka and Rex episodes!

KENOBI: A STAR WARS STORY [The Radical "Help Me Obi-Wan Kenobi" Cut]
Time

I like GLogus review and agree to most of his points. I have a couple more to add to his list:

 • In the very end, Obi-Wan meets Luke and there is an abrupt change in the music as the scene changes to Obi-Wan in the desert.

 • Just before the scene where Leia falls and Obi-Wan uses the force to hold her in the air, it’s a bit unnatural to me that Leia started running like mad. In the original she is not convinced Obi-Wan is a real jedi, whereas in the edit he already used his lightsaber and all that. Perhaps there is a way of sneaking one of the shooting scenes in the start to make it look like Leia is running from the line of fire? (Do we have any audio of Obi-Wan telling Leia to run? Perhaps that would do the trick.)

 • In the same scene, it looks like Obi-Wan is telling Leia to go somewhere, perhaps even jump? Then she jumps and Obi-Wan changes attitude immediately and goes “oh no, she jumped” or something to that effect. That also didn’t feel natural. I’m not sure if that can be easily fixed.

Otherwise, this is my go-to media for Obi-Wan from now on. Thanks a lot Anjohan! Good job!

Revenge of the Sith (The New Canon Cut) [ON HOLD INDEFINITELY]
Time

Hey guys, I took a look at the draft, it’s really good, I really enjoyed it!

But I was wondering, unless I missed something on this thread (it’s rather long), I was thinking about the the black screen at 01.53.06 when Yoda says the children must be hidden. Is that a placeholder for a scene or is that on purpose?

Because if you need ideas to fill that gap, may I offer a suggestion? Perhaps a take of Tantive IV could be used, since Yoda, Obi-Wan and Bail are inside that ship. It could even be taken from other films. We can see the Tantive IV at 01.21.44 on this cut, and it can be seen over Scarif on Rogue One. I’m positive it makes appearances in other films too. Some image tweaking could make one of those recycled scenes look original.

If you have other ideas for that bit, just ignore me.

Good job, NFBisms! Really well done.

Deepfake Tarkin & Leia swap (Rogue One) (up on the Shamook youtube channel)
Time

So, I’ve made an edition of the deepfake Tarkin & Leia on Rogue One, if anyone is interested. I used a Blu-ray source on 1080p (which is the max resolution of the fakes) and 5.1 sound. It looks great on my computer, but I didn’t test in on a telly yet, to be honest, and mine isn’t very large either.

I plan on adding the John Williams music as well, but… when I checked the sound channels I noticed a lot of the music spilled into the dialogue channel, and I am not very skilled with sound edition. Any help is appreciated.

I’m planning to publish my edit to fanedit.org, but I need to add credit where credit is due first, and they have a policy over there that one must be a member of their forums for 30 days and all that jazz.
