Spotted by a friend at Dragon*Con:
I prefer to think of it at ANHoRSE.
I admit I haven't seen any of the footage, but I came here to complain that ady didn't remove the very obvious snowflake from Chewie's foot early in the movie.
As another example:
The original Cloud City matte painting. The white area was where the live-action element was inserted.

Ok, I can't hold it anymore...
WHAT THE HELL IS THE EU ??????????????????????????
Expanded Universe. Comics, novels, RPGs... pretty much any source that isn't the movies.

Can anyone here tell me how to upload a GIFF from my pc on here? I have been experimenting with a few mock ups of shots, but was stumped when it came to posting them here.
Find a free image hosting service. Some examples:

Pardon me, I'm kind of new here. I wonder what EU stands for? I am only aware of European Union (in Europe) and Eftersändning Upphörd (in Sweden)
I couldn't find an FAQ for this forum.
Expanded Universe. The EU encompasses all the officially-licensed stuff like the Clone Wars cartoon, the novels, the comics, the games, and so on.
So when adywan says the EU doesn't exist for him (for the purposes of these fanedits) he means that he's only going based on the content of the movies themselves.
So if, for example, the N64 game/novel "Shadows of the Empire" says that scoundrel Dash Rendar is hanging around on Hoth, that doesn't mean that adywan's going to add Rendar's ship the Outrider to the background of any scenes.

The AT-ST render was my favorite. I'd love something like that cut into a version of the film, maybe only chopped into two shots.
I agree. I've done a mockup of what it might look like:

I remembered some nice old YouTube renders of AT-ST and AT-AT on Hoth:
Would the CGI look fake if it was farther away in the background? Plus, they're old renders (at least the first), I suppose newer 3D renders could have a better and more realistic lighting.
Oh, this was nice too:
The AT-AT link and Snowtrooper link appear to go to the same video.
In any case, I think this video has the best AT-ST ever put on film.
So it has. Must have missed that.
Couple of things caught my eye. Apologies to doubleofive for borrowing his excellent SE comparison pictures.
In both these shots, a digital matte of the city has been added to the background. However, the reflections on the floor continue to reflect the GOUT backgrounds.
I realize this'd be tricky to fix, but I thought I'd ask.

So you were a shoo-in for the prequels then.
That's what you'd think, but when I applied, they told me I was "too realistic" and offered to make a CG model of me instead.
It's true! I applied to be an extra in the SE Cantina scene, but was turned down for looking too unbelievable.
So I just got finished reading through all 730 pages of this behemoth of a thread. Good lord. Snowflakes on wookiees and blue-tinted fighters. Snow on Luke's back and shuttlecraft sizes. Blue-coloured Yodas, finally green.
(These are a few of my favourite things.)
On the very first page, I got excited when I read this, since my first post here was (I believe) June 6th:
Anyone that has contributed in this thread up to 12am GMT on the 9th June will get their names in the end credits.
I was all
:D :D :D
And then:
Anyone that joins or contributes after this date unfortunately won't. If you want your real name instead of your forum name in the credits then please contact Doubleofive by the end of June 2009 or it will automatically be your forum name in the credits
Then I was
D: D: D:
Oh well.
Awesome to see how little of the movie remains to be done. Best of luck, Ady!

Nice cutscene, Angel!
But S-foils should be in "peace position" all the way, shouldn't they? (mostly when travelling through hyperspace)
I was always under the impression that "attack position" was necessary for a hyperspace jump, but I could easily be wrong.
Good to know my first post to these august forums wasn't a complete failure. (:

Still having problems matching the interior of a building with exterior...?
Problem solved.

Why do you have to fight, mom and dad?
(very q&d)
