The point isn’t about breaking off communities, I’m talking about an additional server focused on restoration and preservation. It’s a bit more practical in some ways, the idea being to gather some people and skills in order to be ever more effective ( don’t know if " gay group chats " was necessary but anyway ).

Yes, indeed, but it would only help few people from my perspective. It can very well be complementary for specific methods or specific plugins for example.

Hello everyone !

I’m amazed by the results of everyone’s work and by what can be achieved with today’s technology concerning restoration. And I was kind of wondering if a Discord Server around restoration and preservation purposes could exist by reuniting talented and willingful person. With some suggestions, some showcases, feedbacks and help on different topic as long as it doesn’t pose any sort of problems

On my side, I’m trying to restore some shows but I’m having trouble on my own and I think those projects could benefit some exterior help. Like learning AVISynth for cleaning purposes, or make a chaiNNer model properly trained to upscale Movies and TV Shows as faithfully as possible ( and not what some official releases have done… ). By now, I think we can do some amazing restorations while also being faithful to source material. I’m thinking of the Dreamastered edition of tLotR, among oher projects, that aimed to have the best colors while also " repairing " all the DNR and since I was thinking of restore Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I thought about it ( even though maybe it will exist officialy after the whole " Buffy HD " catastrophe ) ! And since I’m French, I need to track down some French dub for certain episodes of cartoons, such as Cartoon Network ones.

So I was wondering if such a thing could exist, I really think that if done with care, it can be interesting and could be very useful for restoration purposes. I hope the idea is clear, don’t know if that’s the best place to post this kind of topic so I hope it’s ok ! Thanks in advance and thanks to everyone who work hard, really
