Loved the episode! Yay Frink!

Love the idea of a podcast which tackles niche subjects and people with obscure interests. I for one would be interested to hear an interview to someone from the chiptune community. One name that comes to mind is Brad Smith.

I put up my talk with Brad Smith today! Thanks again for the suggestion! I'm still willing to hear any others.

Ok, last time I'll bump this post (hopefully). Thanks again to everyone. I'll still check back if there's any other suggestions or if anyone else Frink suggested ends up wanting to talk.

And keep your listeners who could not give any shits about Star Wars, I imagine.

Ha, well, they'd probably at least love the Mike Verta interview considering his passionate opposition to almost everything Star Wars-related outside of the original cut of the original film.

I would love to hear the actual -1 :)

We'll have to see if they're willing eventually! As I said, I actually would be interested to talk to people doing 35mm transfers and cleanups.

Oh, just for down the road, dark_jedi might be a good one too.  He does all sorts of preservations that I assumed no one would want to watch but apparently people here do watch them.

 What's dark_jedi up to?

Also, for anyone curious, the next few weeks will probably be:

-A couple of comic book artists

-(Hopefully!) this great afro-futurist funk/r&b singer (think like, Erika Badu meets Sun Ra)

-Maybe Brad Smith (a chiptune suggestion I got here) if we can keep in contact

-Then probably this Dutch Second Life art-curator I've been talking to a little. I'm trying to infiltrate the absolutely insane world of Second Life-based art, but we'll see how it goes.

As always though, any suggestions are totally welcome! I'll keep checking back here, but I'm also available through email at rob(AT)undressingunderground(DOT)com and on twitter @falconvein.

Haha thanks, I really appreciate all the suggestions, but I really gotta start moving beyond this forum again.

Also, they both turned me down before -_-

Or at least Adywan did... temporarily. But yeah, I'd love to talk to either of them at some point because the fan preservations of actual prints really interests me, but I gotta diversify a little for at least a month or two. Gotta rope you along for longer somehow :-P

Actually, before I post there, I'd like to look for someone doing something different than what Brad Smith does. Communication with him is taking a while, but it sounds like he's going to do it.

My gf was telling me there's basically two camps of chiptunes though, hardchip and softchip or something? I think he does his stuff on his computer, but I can't really tell.

Any idea of what he does and what I should be asking for on their forum?

There are some great chiptune artists on the Minibosses forum I frequent.  A lot of great video game music cover bands as well.  Unfortunately it's been down for a week now...

And just like that, it's back up.

If you post there, I'd be happy to vouch for you.

Was this the right forum to post in? The description at the top says "A message board to talk about the band"

Hey Rob, Mike Verta might make for a good preservationist interview.

(Also google him)

Hey, thanks. I think I'm done with preservation stuff for a while though... unless I run out of guests, in which case sure!

i was actually back on though cause I'm gonna post on that chip tune forum you directed me to earlier.

Also, Molly's episode will be up on 9/1

Yes, I still work on Detective Conan.

Good anime, wish it had done better in the States.

I would love to talk to you about that. I actually am fascinated by fan subbing culture but it somehow just totally slipped my mind until now.

And as I tell everyone, your voice is going to be totally fine. If you're seriously not comfortable with your voice though we can work with filters during or after to make it something that you are comfortable with. You can email me at rob@undressingunderground.com

No one is going to listen to your podcast with attitude like that. I for sure WILL not pass the word.

This is the podcast of UUpodcast, not TV's Frink or Jetrell Fo. UUpodcast didn't catch an attitude with you.

 Thanks.

I have no idea what exactly happened here, but sorry to be the one to host all of this?

Anyway, if anyone missed it with all the hubub, Harmy's talk went up today http://goo.gl/dLlzYr

Thanks! On all fronts!

I just clicked through to a random track of his and I'm really digging it. I'm always down for suggestions, especially if someone can put me in contact with someone.

Thanks everyone for listening! And thanks of course to Q2 and TVs Frink for taking part. If someone can tell Q2 it's up, I forget how to contact him ¯\_(?)_/¯

He's aware.  He posted about it on FE.

Also, if anyone wants to talk film preservation (like, preserving actual film), feel free to pm me on here or reach out however you know how. I'd love to tack you onto Harmy's episode. Right now I have him slated to go up next Tuesday, but I can hold it off a week if necessary.

I was going to suggest Team Negative 1, but judging by the end of the Q2 episode (that's what I'm calling it out of fake modesty), you're already doing that.

I think I might have reached out to someone from them before but they declined. Figured I'd try to up the pressure haha. But, awesome. Hope he enjoyed, too. And screw your modesty, you were great.

I'm just looking for one more person now, someone who has done fan edits in order to genuinely improve the films. If anyone has any suggestions of who's done some good work then I can try to reach out to them.

Adywan

He seems perfect! I shot him a PM. If he's not into it I'll post here again if anyone else would be interested in taking his place.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone!
