Do your inserts fit standard blu-ray cases or criterion cases? Great work by the way! I’m really looking forward to the finished product!

They fit 12.5mm Bluray cases, may modify eventually for everything to work with Criterion as a selection for those who want that, but that will be sometime in the future, I have a project after this one and one more before I get to that. I may work on it in between those though.

Everything is printed and looks great. I am waiting on my empty cases to come in to do “glamor” shot to share and release.

Did you have a local print shop handle the printing or did you do it? Just curious. I’ve been thinking about paying for a professional printing job but haven’t made up my mind yet.

I printed myself. The printer my friend has is pretty good.

The cases that I am waiting on are 12.5mm Blu-ray but they are a clear, with no color. I think it looks better since I have backs to the slip covers. The Blue cases made the colors look weird.

Sad to see you take it down. I can not blame you thought with all the garbage of people stealing your design and using it to sell sets online. It scares me from wanting to put mine out. I want to get this out for free to the Honest members of this community they are a great bunch and deserve this kind of stuff.

Anyway, godspeed and hope to see some more from you someday!!!

^ cracking work mate -really like your image selection for the chapter inserts & leaflets 😃

Thank you!

Oh, heres something I’ve been working on in some spare time, note sure when I will release a set of these, but it will be sometime after the current project is done. Still, it has a lot of tweaking to make it better.

Ah omy god, I really love this…brings back memories. Let’s hope you one day finish a set of these and more importantly ( wink wink) share your work… Love this old school design.

These will definitely get a release after I finish my current set. But these will just be covers. No box or anything.

Sorry for the lack of update this week, been a crazy one. Oh the wonders of having a family lol

But here is a medium update.

These are the Disc Labels for the set. Enjoy!

P.S I have almost everything finished, I just want to add something special and hopefully, that will be done soon along with a printed set to showcase the release within the nex 2 weeks!

Big Update for the covers and Leaflet inserts. These are the backs to the covers that you see when you open the case. And I don’t think I need to explain what the leaflets are lol.

Here are the inside images for the covers

Star Wars Leaflets

Empire Strikes Back Leaflets

Return of the Jedi Leaflets

Still working on some Goodies for the set, not sure what they will be.

Here’s a small tease of what I’m currently working on (it’s not ready yet):

set

As you can see, I’m giving my covers a throwback look. They are inspired by the old CBS/FOX VHS tapes I had during my early childhood. I don’t want them to be exact copies. I used the color scheme as a reference, and lowered the saturation of the pictures. I also made an off-white color. This makes the covers look older, as if they have aged and faded over time.

Looks awesome!!! I’m a sucker for the retro look. Can’t wait to see more!

some quality work you’ve done mate - love the slightly different tweaks you’ve done along the way too - the more possibilities, otions and choices the better 😃

and also the choice of the '92 boxset for the box itself 😃

Keep up the quality work - hope you don’t mind, I’ve added your box set to the ‘3-in-1 and box set covers’ thread, here - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/A-list-of-Box-Sets-and-3-in-1-Trilogy-covers-by-otcom-users/id/53673

Awesome to see it added to the list! The revisions will probably be coming more until I feel 100% satisfied. It is nice to share the progression of the covers and more. The “92 box” is more of a re imagining of the orginal VHS one. I am wanting to do the side flaps like the '92 has, to hold some of the goodies I am making to go with the set. Then a slightly bigger sleeve fot he box to slide into. It is going to take a lot of patience and trial and error to get this just right. The Covers will Most Likely be released to you guys before anything else, with the final product box and all later (may contain slightly altered covers for that release lol)

Heres another lil update.

Covers have some font change, with a type of drop shadow behind for legibility. I also Squared up the alignment of text and images to have even “borders” and update backgrounds.

Here are some TOPPS W.I.P (inspired by Rowlims’s) I am trying to make my own, these will probably lose the characters and become source references that were used to make Harmy’s Despecialized.

The only nitpick I’d voice is that the text (the paragraph ones) in a few places is trying to fight for center stage against the background image (most notably in first and third image). It’s not a MAJOR issue, and hell, I’d use your covers as is, but my suggestion is to maybe have some kind of semi-transparent background behind the text. In other words, your text’s background could be black, but not solid black. Just faded and transparent enough so that you can see the background image and still have your text really pop out. Overall, really dig it!

First off thank you! Second I am still learning (pretty much self-taught) and I am not sure how to add that offset shadow to the back. Once I figure that out I will definitely add that!

This is what I want to do. Phildesfr did it very well, I wish I knew how to add this effect. I am using Illustrator CC

I am also having a hard time finding HQ images of the shots I have or similar shots. they all get pixelated when I zoom in to look at the text I am working on. Not sure how it would look printed.
