Someone who does have the book, tell me how the seismic charges sound effect from the only cool scene in AOTC was made. I have always wanted to know.

Bad news... pg 236

When Attack of the Clones hit theaters, the seismic charge caused a similar reaction in audiences.  Indeed, when lecturing, Burrtt is often asked about it and the twang of the explosion (which he prefers to keep a secret).  "When I go out and meet fans, they always ask, 'What was that sound? That was so cool,'" says Wood, "But it's the absence of sound that really is what makes everybody like it."

Ohhhhh, I guess I'll never know. I bet it is more simple than we would think.

Personally to me it always sounded like an electric guitar. I'm always expecting to hear, "the boys are back in town!" Every time that sound goes off. =P

Info & Idea: SERIOUS preservationists ONLY
Time

Anyway....yeah Star Tours is closing but the ride itself is still running until sometime in November I think. After that they'll do the real decommissioning and revamp the queue area and have a new ride in place. Actually I should say rides, as now Star Tours will have multiple destinations like it was originally supposed to have. Only downside is that this is a prequel to the original Star Tours and is set between ROTS and ANH. The ship will look basically the same, except it now has these brown/orange stripes on it and is now the Starspeeder 1000.

Save Star Wars Dot Com
Time

Now here's what I'm talking about with the missing shot:

So let's start off with the '04 SE, here we have Han saying I'll bet you have:

Then it quickly fades to this shot of the two of them:

But back in the GOUT right after Han says his line suddenly there's a bright flash:

Then it cuts to the Dummy Greedo right before he explodes:

So did the SE add a shot or was the GOUT censored? I personally would lean toward them censoring this shot because of that site I mentioned before that noted Han's bolt going over the table instead of through it. Thoughts?

I still don't understand how they got Jabba's eye color wrong for the '04 release.

Now here's a question I've been wanting to ask, are we missing frames from the Han/Greedo scene? I remember way back there used to be a website that compared all the changes from the OUT with the then new '97 SE. For the Han/Greedo scene he pointed out how they messed up the compositing of Han's blaster bolt going through the table and was now going over it. But now when I watch that scene I don't see that shot anywhere at all!

"Fatal Alliance" book
Time

"For generations, my ancestors fought proudly as warriors against the Jedi. Now, that woman tarnishes the very name Mandalorian. Defend her, if you will. This lightsaber was stolen from the Jedi Temple by my ancestors during the fall of the Old Republic. Since then, many Jedi have died upon its blade. Prepare yourself to join them." -- Pre Vizsla.

George himself wrote that line and after Dave Filoni read it he was suspicious about how much George knew about SWTOR. =P

Definitely wasn't green.
But still wrong.

As Taken from the GOUT:

There were still some oddities. Almost all of the Tie fighter explosions were almost pure white, no color at all. Except notably for the last Tie when the Falcon escapes Tatooine. As opposed to when an X-wing would bite it and then the color of the explosion seemed oversaturated.

Well, I guess I'll throw my two cents in. I was there at Celebration and got to see what I'm guessing was a sneak peek at what's going to be coming out on bluray. Every night they would play two films back to back. I wasn't able to attend most of them because the shuttles stopped before the first film would finish. However, on one day because they were throwing a big party they moved the films up so I was able to catch a good chunk of ANH.

They had a big fancy digital projector hooked up that projected to a huge screen. Sorry I can't get into the technical side of things that's not my forte. Anyway, the film looked amazing. It looks like they might have gone and fixed the errors that the DVD release introduced as Luke's lightsaber was actually white again. The colors overall looked a lot better than what I remember of the DVD transfer.
