The Prequels in terms of spectacle where huge, with grand huge shots with so much going on the screen. However at times it was unnecessary.

Which is one of the things I plan to tackle in my edit.
How?

Well, Trimming/cutting shots, editing stuff out of shot using good old after effects, or even just creating new shots entirely.

Examples:
The Geonosis Jedi arena battle. TRIM/CUT/NEW SHOTS?
So many times there are a dozen Jedi in one shot that last hardly two seconds, with so many flashy color full things waving around. The fight with the monsters, in my opinion was pretty good, it felt real, or at least as real as it could get. The Jedi Fight is just too much.

and they built a model of the city, why didn’t they just stick it in a tank of water?

Obi Wan vs Anakin. TRIM
Yeah this fight is pretty great, but towards the end it was too much, and too long. I will also recut the Yoda vs, Sidious duel. After the Transmission between Anakin and Palpatine, Yoda walks in the door. then is zapped with lightning. then cuts to padme landing on mustifar
Parts cut:
Balancing off the pipes,
Sailing down the river of lava.
The Lava fall
Trimmed the platforms, only Anakin lands on a platform.
Once the beam breaks off Obi Wan jumps off swing off a cable, and landing on the hill,
Anakin them Grabs a cable landing on platform gliding in front of Obi Wan on the hill side.

this will apply to only certain characters and in certain films.

Darth Maul You Could Almost Say I’m dubbing him for the first time since he had pretty much nothing to say.

Count Dooku, Christopher Lee was a Fantastic actor, but he wasn’t given anything interesting to say or do, He just comes in at the end, and it’s like oh we need a saber duel. This will also be helpful considering I might add him in Episode I.

Anakin, Only for Episode I.

Queen Amidalla, Only for when she is Portrayed by Keira Knightley, AKA the Decoy,

Darth Sidious,
Until The fight with Mace Windu in ROTS, He will have a voice similar to Clive Revill in the Original version of Empire, I LOVE Ian McDiarmid, But it shouldn’t have been as obvious as to who he was, and it will be more of a twist in Episode III.

Okay all you Frame by frame star wars fans have you ever noticed this in TPM. One frame there’s three vulture droids but the next they disappear. Really? I mean as a VFX compositor myself I’ve had this happen before but really?

For The love scenes, Cut the fire place scene. (awful) Cut the entire scene with the first kiss by the lake. (atrocious) Re insert the deleted scene of Anakin and Padme going to Padme's home with her parents. Cut the Scene were they are with the Queen of Naboo. (pointless) Trim the scene when they are on the ship going to naboo. I.e. :you've changed so much. Anakin: you haven't changed a bit. You're exactly the way I remember you in my dreams. (Vomit) Cut some of the dialog before they go to the arena on Gienosis Do that and the Love story pretty much works.

As for Anakin. Making him less winy creepy and psychotic. Cut the part were he is say's "why? Why else do you think we were assigned to this. Protection is a job for local security not Jedi. It's over kill master Investigation is pardon in our mandate." Cut the were he blames Obi Wan for his mother's death for "holding him back"??? Cut were he says he is ahead of obi wan, and he's overly critical and doesn't listen and of course "It's not fair!"

As for the mystery plot. Cut any mention of "Syphodias" Who ever he was. Cut all indications of Vicroy Gunray being the one trying to kill Padme. That way it will imply that Count Dooku is behind it. In fact I suggest you Reinstate the scene of Dooku landing on Coruscant to the very beginning similar to what Secior Did for his edit of ATOC setting The Count up as the main villain.

On a side note Cut any indications of Dooku being Called "Darth Tyranus" It's just confusing.     

Cut all of C-3PO's Dialog. In fact cut him completely, until the end of the film at Anakin and Padme's wedding. He was just there as a poor attempt at comedy, like Jar Jar. Oh yeah Cut him too. Like all of him

While there isn't really anything you can do about the Effects (unless you have models and A LOT of time) You can trim and or cut some shots that have really over the top ridiculous CGI. 

Taking all that the film should be at the very least watchable, and at most good.

Yeah that is true, I hadn't thought that. Nevertheless I don't know how or where this idea came about.

After much reading on these forums. One popular trend in terms of editing the Prequels, is Obi Wan having another apprentice than just Anakin. This theory is believed to be a solution, to keeping the identity of Darth Vader a Mystery until ESB.

This idea is driving me crazy. Both on how impossible it is with out remaking the whole trilogy. But also How it makes no sense.

Let me explain.

1: The idea of Obi Wan having more than apprentice is never mentioned in the OT. Sure the line in ANH “who was a pupil of mine util he turned evil” has very small hint that he may have taught other Jedi, but in ROTJ the line “I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi, I thought that I could instruct him just as well as Yoda” also hints that Anakin was his first and only apprentice, seeing as how he didn’t know he was capable of training someone as strong with the force as Anakin was.

2: The idea that having both Anakin and unnamed apprentice, turning to the dark side at different times, having Obi Wan defeat them, and then all of a sudden Darth Vader shows up and slaughters the Jedi and most likely confronts Obi Wan. Could work, but it was established that Obi wan and Yoda both know who is inside the suit. how would they know who is even inside the suit? And if obi does find out who is in there, then the audience will know too.

I don’t think I need to explain how impossible it is to pull off without, again, remaking the trilogy. It would just be easier to have in ROTS when Anakin is burning on the hill being the last we see of him.

Hope this explains why this doesn’t work, but if you have your own thoughts, feel free to leave them down below. (be mature!)

I can do a pretty good Ewan Mcgregor/Alec Genus. And I have the equipment to properly record it. I'm also young so it would be good for a young Obi Wan.

NO I completely understand video quality. I work with HD footage all the time. And I Do professional video Work everyday. Its the Circumstances is the reason I'm not using the blue rays. An if I could use the blue ray's NO QUESTION I would do it.

And you have to understand I'm Partially doing this to exercise my editing skills. Just to see How far I can stretch it. 

NO. There's no question the blue rays are the best source. But I don't have a blue ray disk drive. Yes I could down load another fan edit that's in HD but I need the full unedited film. Yes I could Download an HD version of TPM but on my computer it takes so long down load a torrent file through bit torrent. I'm sure that experience is typical.

Yes. I compared it to a copy of ATOC with the DVD of ATOC ans it looks exactly the same. So its not a problem

Yeah we used to go to the video store (remember those days) and then we would copy them on to blank disks.

OKAY. UPDATE: I have looked around my house and have since found a copy of TPM that my grandfather made and has far superior quality. Granted its not the blue ray quality but much more  passable. Still has a pink tone to it but its fixable 

To be CLEAR I am by NO means Against HD. I work wt HD Footage all the time I crave it.

Obi Wan Having two apprentices doesn't really work.

1 being it was NEVER mentioned in the OT.

2 it would WAY too confusing in the OT if that were the case.

3 being IMPOSSIBLE to pull off, with out some really good CGI or EXACT look a likes of Ewan Mcgregor and Hayden Christensen if not them. It would just be better to re make the PT which I nor I assume anyone else including J.J. Abrams is going to do.

Its plain and simple. Anakin and ONLY Anakin is Obi Wan's apprentice. I may not be able to keep Darth Vader's identity a secret but I can hopefully bring the PT In line with the OT.

Nothing is set in stone yet so I'm still debating.

If all of you are saying Darth Vader should be left out then I have to listen and give in. Darth Vader will never be seen in the entire prequel trilogy

But that's okay I still have a lot of planning for Episode III with new scenes too shoot and I will likely have to build miniature sets of the Jedi Temple to use as blue screen back round. So deciding this will take some weight off my shoulders.

And Darth Vader's revel in STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE is not the climax. 

I think you mean cinematic. But I see what you mean I'm still deciding what I'm going to do with Episode III so I'll keep that in mind.
