It almost feels like MAGIC the way Adywan took the 2011 Blu-Ray transfers and improved on them in every way.
How do you all like the TESB shots in that video compared to how they look in TESB:R?

Firstly, Blue skies are a sign of low moisture, not the other way around…
Also, the skies on Tatooine are blue because the skies on Tatooine (Tunisia) ARE blue… They’ve been desaturated on home media (especially in the UHD) but have always been and meant to be a deep and bright blue…

I think the first two shots with the escape pod are from the 2020 Blu-Ray, and the “Look sir, droids” shot is from the 2011 Blu-Ray. That’s why the lid is black in the first two, and blue in the third. But that can be fixed.
Why not find a way to track just the oil stains on him and switch them over without needing to mirror his whole body, so the 180 rule isn’t broken?

Why was that first closeup shot of R2 extended by a few seconds?
Still, don’t the transfers he’s working with look good enough already, with his own little color and grain alterations?
Any deleted scenes you want to use for fan edit but the quality was lacking, may not be off the table-
I really hope that the deleted scene with Vader telepathically reaching out to Luke in the cave at the start of the film could be restored and reinserted into ROTJ:Revisited. It’s a scene that should never have been cut.
I think that scene recontextualises the whole movie for the better, it adds some depth and gravitas (which the film could do with to be honest), it rightfully places the Father/Son relationship front and centre, and makes the final act even more epic and impactful.
It’s certainly better condition footage than the deleted scene linked above with Luke using his binoculars, that one was far rougher. It would be quite a coup if the Vader and Luke scene could be sufficiently restored to add back in to Revisited, and for me it would be the single biggest improvement that could be made to ROTJ.
Sorry, but it’s not being included. In fact, Adywan retimed the shot with the wipe transition to R2 and 3PO so that there is no more of that slowdown that was added to make up for the removal of the scene.

There is a subtle change made to R2 in this shot in the 2019 transfer, in case you didn’t know. Will you be using it for ANH:R HD? I know it’s not much of a change, but it’s still a change.
Probably a “fix” more than a “change”, I’m sure Ady would have done the same himself.

If Adywan was to fix a few more things in TESB:R, would he do what was done in the 2019 transfer, and fill in the dark spaces in the upper right corners of the shots of Luke’s X-Wing sinking?
