Blade Runner (1982) Final Cut - 4K Potato Regrade
Time

I’m going to start a series of regrades that aim to improve films I deem that where changed too much in terms of color and grain structure.

The first film is Blade Runner (1982). Through the 4K Bluray has very nice detail. I found the teal colors to be off putting. Below, I’ll share with you my attempt at “correcting” that. (They have been tone-mapped from HDR to SDR. Results may not be accurate but they should give you an idea)

The Shining - 4K International Cut
Time

After Kubrick released the film in the United States, he removed about 26 minutes worth of scenes and made a more subtle experience. An example of this is Jack’s alcoholism, which is inferred in the International Cut. In 2019, Warner Bros. released the 4K bluray of the film which disapointed me. Not only did it not include the original mono mix, but it was also the American Cut only… With my edit, I’ve recreated the International Cut.

PM for link.

Release info:
68gb 3840x2160 HDR10 76.7 Mb/s
AC3 Dual Mono (English; default) TrueHD 5.1 (English) AC3 5.1 (French, German, Spanish) AC3 2.0 (English Commentary)
Subtitles: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish

Once Upon A Time In The West - Unofficial 4K Director's Cut
Time

Paramount’s release of this masterpiece was disastrous by including the “Harmonica Rises” scene (which was originally deleted by the director), by including the music error in the end, by still no including the original mono mix which sounds better than the 5.1 mix and does not have posthumously added SX, and by AI de-graining the film into a waxy mess.

My fan edit attempts to fix that by removing the deleted scene, fixing the music, including the mono mix in PCM from the LaserDisc (courtesy of jimbotron235), adjusting the colors to a more reasonable appearance, upscaling to 4k in a respectful manner and upconverting to HDR.

PM for links. It’s over 110GB split on various links. Audio and subtitles in various languages are included

however, I have to double check, I believe beside the English audio tracks, the French dub is available. I will check after work and let you know what are the other dubs, if any, would that work?

I’ll take any dubs

Need audio languages for Lord of the Rings
Time

I’m searching for dubbed audio tracks for the theatrical editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The 35MM scans are being regraded and I want to mux in as many audio tracks as possible.

I have Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Hungarian, Russian, Thai and Czech. These are all in AC3. If you have any of these in higher quality versions, please share them with me.

And if you have any other language you have, please share also.

Thank you very much!

The same thing happens in TTT

Yeah… The source clip is 23,976fps and resolve wants it to be 24fps. Telling him it’s not won’t change anything. It seems I have to convert the original file to prores… which is going to take a huge amount of storage…

Try making a new project with the right frame rate and copy the timeline over
