Please Start A New Petition For Disney!
Time

So The Force Awakens is near and we're all super excited.

But what about getting the original unaltered versions that people have always wanted? I would have expected a petition would have been made by now, but it hasn't. We HAVE to keep the pressure on, otherwise the unaltered versions may never get released.

I have sworn to myself that I will never watch the original Star Wars films again until their released unaltered. I will not tolerate George Lucas butchering them and getting away with it. Star Wars is a cultural landmark that deserves to have it's unaltered version available, and Disney is our best chance of getting it.

It looks really unlikely that Disney are releasing them already, as we have not heard of a confirmation, they would need to sign a deal with Fox, etc. But we need to get them to sign that deal with Fox to get the original Star Wars films back.#

PLEASE make a petition for this admins!

Why I dislike Adywans Star Wars revisted
Time

Okay I am sorry for causing so much upset and I have said that I know a lot of effort was put into SW: R. I wanted to express my opinion and that's all and I made this thread because I didn't know where else to put it. I respect others opinions and I completely understand that George Lucas and Adywans reasons and ideals are completely different as SW: R is choice and SW: SE is not. All I am saying is that the actual editing is the same concept, modernize the film and give the film a new look. Which I personally don't like but I can see the appeal.

To TV Frink, Lay off. I don't get why you just come onto my threads to annoy me and say disrespectful things but either way it is disrespectful and insulting. I would appreciate you not to post on my threads and if you do, be civil.

Idea: for a 'Batman Forever - The Fan Cut'....
Time

Hello guys

As we all know Batman Forever was responsible for the campy turn on Batman which eventually led to the cinematic atrocity Batman And Robin. But what we don’t all know is that this was not always the case, Joel Shumacher wanted to reboot the franchise while keeping to the characters dark roots. The original cut supported this, with a story paying homage to The Dark Knight Returns. But after the failure of Batman Returns the studio wanted a more kid friendly film and they butchered the movie into the movie which was released.

In 2008 a fan editor named Scaperat attempted to restore the original cut with Batman Forever: Red Book Edition. But the edit was mediocre at best, the colors were way to muted, the deleted scenes not cleaned up, the choice of music for the deleted scenes poor, and in bad DVD quality.

What I plan to do is re attempt this task properly with a Blu Ray source, I will clean up the deleted scenes properly and edit in a Phantom Editor style way. Here is a basic idea of the cuts I plan to do.

1. Add all the deleted scenes and clean the up.

2. Remove as much jokes as possible.

3. Try to make the villains more sinister.

4. Make the end credits have Eliot Goldenthals score instead of the first pop song (A kiss from a rose will be kept)

5. Mute the colors a little bit but not as much as. Red Book Edition.

I would actually like to see him make the prequels look like the 70s a lot, I said this in my first post and I will say it again, Star Wars is a work of its time and updating it is stupid and disrespectful. Which are the most classic films, the most memorable, the best, and the ones we should be inspired by, the originals or the prequels.

Adywan's intention was to bring the movies into the present so that the Star Wars saga could look more uniform in its visual style. His intention was to create an alternate special edition, not to replace Star Wars or to restore it to its 1970s state, which has already been done.

His changes had logic behind them, and many of them fixed mistakes with the movies, or helped make the movie more visually consistent with the prequels. The SE left many errors as is, and added many silly things that weren't necessary or wanted.

Okay, Why didn't he just fix the mistakes of the originals and make the prequels more in style with the OT rather than the other way round.

Idea & Ideas Wanted: for a Spider Man (2002) fan edit...
Time

This is a great idea, these are the things I think you should do.

1. Mute the colors to create a darker feel to the movie.

2. Remove Mary Jane/Peter Parker relationship.

3. Remove as much as Mary Jane as possible.

4. Make the film more streamlined.

5. Build the movie more around Uncle Bens death.

6. Remove Peter Parkers stupid moments.

Pokemon the First Movie Fan-edit (Released)

If you want to make Ash the main character fine, but redub the lines to make him referred to as Red and maybe use footage from the series to give him a better team.

Also about separating dialogue from music click this link.

Well that's interesting, the deleted scene humanizes Mewtwo and the movie is so short that it wouldn't hurt at all to add stuff. If you are adamant that you want it to not drag on for too long then remove other stuff such as the pointless opening scene with that god awful 90s pop remix of the Pokemon theme (Which you should probably remove anyway). The movie should be serious, a proper anime film.

In the Japanese version it feels like an actual movie, the editing is much slower paced rather than the breakneck speed of the american version. You don't have to do the who he is constantly but at least give Mewtwo a backstory, a reason, and make us feel for him. Just because it is a Pokemon movie doesn't mean that the normal rules of character development don't apply.

Ok about him being betrayed twice, in the lab scene he basically just kills them all in seconds because the little kids need some action, it would be much better if after all the scientists have shaken hands we cut straight away to Mewtwo in him armor talking to Giovanni. Also when he is training it would be better to remove all Mewtwos dialogue to make him seem like a colder and darker character.

I think you should remove Team Rocket from the entire picture, the do absolutely nothing and there role is just to be Jar Jar of the Pokemon world.

Pokemon the First Movie Fan-edit (Released)
Time

This actually sounds like a great idea, I wanted to do something like this but I felt nobody in fan editing really cared about Pokemon so I probably shouldn't bother. These are ideas I'm going to give to you for your fan edit, I might help you out if there is some trouble you have or anything.

1. Add the deleted opening about the lost daughter of the scientist, you can find it on the Mewtwo Returns DVD.

2. Replace all the music with the Japanese music except for Mewtwos theme in which the american theme is MILES BETTER.

3. Edit it more in tone with the Japanese version whilst retaining the american dubs (You may have to re dub some lines)

4. Remove Mewtwo destroying the lab and instead only destroys Giovannis lab (It basically repeats itself twice)

5. Tell the story of the Japanese version where the story is much more complex.

6. Significantly reduce Ashs role, its Mewtwos story.
