Your Favorite And Least Favorite Special Edition Changes
Time

The CG X-Wings at the end of Star Wars blend seamlessly with the rest of the footage, and really improve the pacing of the battle.

My least favorite would have to be that one shot in Mos Eisley where Luke is approaching the stormtroopers in the Landspeeder. The CG dinosaur that walks in front of the camera looks totally fake and unnecessary.

Help Needed with Extracting Despecialized Edition MKVs
Time

Recently, I've been trying to get Harmy's Despecialized Editions onto Blu-Ray. I've used AVCHDCoder, and tsMuxer to try and convert the MKV files to a BD compatible format. However, both run into errors when trying to open the file. If I can get the MKVs into a HQ format, I plan to burn the BD via Adobe Encore.

Does anyone know a way to convert the Despecialized Edition MKVs to an Adobe Encore-friendly format without loss of quality?

For the box art I'd try Star Wars on Video

Thanks for the link, the cover scans look wonderful!

I own all of the tapes needed, I can scan the boxes if you'd like.

That would be great, thank you! Would you be able to scan the box set as it appears in the trailer picture? That seems to be the only scan missing from the website Williarob gave me.

Star Wars Trilogy Box Set Trailer (1990) Restoration Project (Released)
Time

While this is nowhere near the level of restoring a film, this trailer has a special meaning for me, as it was the first I ever saw of Star Wars. The preview played on the 1990 VHS tape releases before the feature, and I’m in the process of restoring the video in high definition.

SOURCES:

-Star Wars Trilogy Box Set Trailer

-Harmy’s Despecialized Edition of Star Wars

-Harmy’s Despecialized Edition of The Empire Strikes Back

-Harmy’s Despecialized Edition of Return of the Jedi

-Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi Titles

-Star Wars on Video VHS cover scans

Here’s a video for the trailer:

MISSING ELEMENTS:

-The space background that appears when the titles zoom in.

-Scans from the Star Wars Trilogy Box Set (1990).

-“From Star Wars To Jedi” documentary (good quality).

I can substitute all of these with footage from the trailer, but the change in quality will be significant. If anyone has or knows where these missing elements can be found, please point me in the right direction!
