It’s pretty interesting, seeing a film you’ve known your entire life in a completely new way. It legitimately looks like an actual film now, rather than an extended TV special.
I actually own a camera rip myself, got it from a bootleg DVD at a goodwill. It’s very blue, similar to Notelu’s copy.

A faithful adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy, with a few minor changes of course to fit with TFA’s time period.
These are amazing, definitely my go-to’s for the books from now on. The ambience and music from the films really do transform these into a truly magical experience.

Every year or so, usually whenever the mood strikes. I don’t watch them in order unless it’s with a friend, so it comes down to whichever of the three I feel like watching.
I alternate between my preservation of choice, and Revisited.
Great stuff. The trimming is smooth, the pacing is tight, and the narrative is clear. This’d be a great way to introduce TCW to my folks, as they’re not very interested in viewing all 120-something episodes haha.

I watched the 1080p ver. with a friend last night who’s not really into the editing game, and coming from two nerds who didn’t really like the theatrical, we were both very impressed. Even a minor change such as a vastly improved color grade, can push your enjoyment of a film that much more. Congrats to everyone involved in making this a worthy conclusion to the “Skywalker Saga.”
The 2000 SE isn’t horrible for what it is, but leaves much to be desired on a 4K display. Hopefully Disney’ll surprise us one day, but I’m not betting on a release anytime soon.
Imo its the most engaging of the trilogy, but also the least interesting in story and especially art direction. The first half is pretty dry and confusing for a newbie, unless you tuned in for a short micro-series that aired on a kid’s network. Anakin’s turn feels like it was written in 5 minutes, too sudden and not gradual at all. Too much time was spent on the Grievous stuff as well as stupid filler stories leading up to this point. It really makes me wish TPM and most of AOTC weren’t such time-wasters. There are some standout moments that I legitimately love, but it’s not definitely not Star Wars, nor TESB.

Have you ever considered going back and redoing ANH and ESB with the D+ versions? It’d be nice for consistency with Jedi, though I understand not doing it.
I really want to like the Sequels, but even with fan-efforts; it’s always hard to turn my brain off and have fun with (imo) such soulless films. The Prequels had their fair share of flaws, sure. But I can, at the very least, recognize them as Star Wars. A Star Wars that doesn’t rely on nostalgia, or attempts to push an agenda. It’s a shame…

Massive Thanks for putting in the time to do this. Hal’s and L8’s PT were great, but I was really looking for something that actually fit, in looks anyway, with the OT. All of the CGI already looks much better.
Like many have already said, thanks so much for getting back into the swing of things JJ. I was always a little disappointed with a few of the later films, as I felt they cut a bit too much at times from the source. Specifically with HBP.
