Nope. They're both based off of the the same Premiere render. The mpeg2 encoding must have introduced that.
Does the image, overall, look better to you?
I'm surprised at the interest! I've personally uploaded over 100gb since posting. And that doesn't include all the other seeders. I saw 30+ at one time downloading it. I wish more people would comment.
The edits should be identical, except that the DVD has the letterboxing hard coded. The Divx just has those parts cropped out because I noticed some weird digital anomalies that Premiere introduced. What flaw did you notice?
I didn't do anything different with the edit, audio-wise.
I really had a lot of hopes for this last one. :(
Hahah. Thanks. I doubt that will happen. But I occasionally get an itch to finish it in HD, so I'm not ruling it out entirely.
Pros:
1. The original Superman II is now available in HD.
2. Almost all of my FX work was done with HD footage.
Cons:
1. All my original files are on crashed hard drives that won't mount.
2. No time. I run my own business and have a new baby on the way.
3. Since the new movies aren't sequels to Superman Returns, my ending is kind of pointless.

I found a copy of the two DVDs, and will be uploading to piratebay soon.
The only DVD I made has the same content as the AVIs, but it was encoded from the source files, so it has fewer compression artifacts. But its the same version of the movie, and I don't remember putting a menu on it, but I may have put something simple. It will still have a the text description at the front.
Is it possible you have the DVD version of the OTHER Son of Jorel edit?

I only released one version, so that should be it. I'm surprised your version has parts cut off at the end of both files! Where does each file end?
As for the guys stomach, its not a solid color, although my appear that way on certain displays. It is supposed to be his burned shirt. I decided not to show blood or guts until Superman gives up his powers and gets beat up in the diner.
That's really frustrating to hear. I'll try to get something up on piratebay soon.

I haven't touched a video editor in too long. Every other week or so I considering going back and finishing the Superman edit, but life is busy here. Still, with the new Blu-ray Superman set out now, including all the scenes I couldn't get in HD when I started this edit, I'm very tempted...

I wish I could remember who did this, but someone moved the duel to the Trade Federation ship. IMO it failed because it was just a cut/paste job so it was obvious the scenes didn't match.
Fall of the Republic by Blankfist. Making that move let him shorten TPM to about 20 minutes. I didn't find the change distracting when I first saw it.

@RedFive- There are actually two fan edits released with that name. Besides, I'm not a fan of using titles that were already used commercially, unless the editor is trying to re-create the story that originally used that title.
I was never fully satisfied with the title Son of Jorel anyway. I just settled on it because I hadn't come up with anything better before announcing the project. This will force me to come up with something better.
Watched the Superman Son of Jor-El by L8wrtr and Jelio. Just wanted to confirm that (other than being a combination of Sup1 and 2 and focusing more on the relationship with Jor-El) this edit has virtually no similarities to my edit. The overall sensibility toward Superman as well as specific editing choices are vastly different.
Work on mine will continue after I rebuilt my editing suite. Still considering its new name. Any ideas?
