Hello Harmy,
Will you be using Topaz AI for v3.0?
Hello Harmy,
Will you be using Topaz AI for v3.0?
Is the Ronto here going to be included in these shots during the entering Mos Eisley scene?
I hope so, I like it. It’s not too intrusive and it makes it look more interesting.
But the trends of the edit and the editor tell me no. And if that is I won’t mind too much.
This is just me talking, but I prefer those shots without the Ronto.
At least you’re not the only one who thinks this. I’ve been watching 4K77 recently and I think the scene works without the Ronto.
Did Sanjuro do a color regrade for 4K83? If so, which version?

Reels 1 and 2 have been color corrected for a v1.0 with Reel 3 currently being worked on.

Because TESB:R is just too good to be true, this is something that I’ve always wanted to know: what are some of the things that didn’t get fixed?
So far I’ve identified four
When Han and Leia start to kiss on the MF, they’re holding hands below chest level. Then in the next wide-angle shot, Leia’s right arm is around Han’s neck.
https://youtu.be/6ZhlyVNfMWc?start=63
When Vader kills Captain Needa for losing the MF and then the two Imperial soldiers pick up his body, Needa stands up all by himself.

On Dagobah when Luke is preparing to leave for Bespin, the ladder that he uses to climb into the X-wing disappears in the shot when he starts to take off.
https://youtu.be/vVZSbtqwn5o?t=01m46s
When Luke is arriving at Cloud City, he presses some controls above him but there are no buttons or controls on the cockpit hatch.

Since the shot of the severed arm will have the original furry hand now, will it still have blood, or will it be cauterized like in Revisited SD?
It’s going to be cauterized like when the Wampa’s arm was cut off in TESB:R and everything else that was cut by a lightsaber in revisited.
Asking for a friend who is keen about Star Wars details.
"For ROTJ:R, could you please change the throne room layout to how it looks in TROS?
Most importantly, the wall with the door that leads to the wayfinder
Otherwise, it’s good to see this project is still going strong!
Thanks very much!
Based on those pics, I don’t think changing the throne room layout to how it appears in TROS is really necessary. It’s really the fault of the filmmakers for not having it match to how it was depicted in ROTJ.
The bunk is from this scene in TFA

A Republic is a country where the position of Head of State is not inherited. Countries like the UK, Sweden, and Denmark with inherited titles like King and Queen are not Republics. So if the Galaxy is a Republic, how is Leia a Princess and Padme a Queen?
You’re right, though the Sith are a group of Dark Jedi, so from an outsider’s perspective they’re effectively the same. Vader is also a former Jedi himself anyway.
It should be stated that all Sith/Dark Jedi were former Jedi.
I don’t think that’s necessarily true. The Emperor wasn’t.
Your right. That would mean he didn’t have to be a Jedi to start off as a force user.
Also, for a better explanation for why Vader and The Emperor were the only Sith/Dark Jedi during the OT is because the Jedi defeated all the others with Palpatine’s rise to power being because of his strength with the Force, his ability to see the future, etc.

I’m not sure where you get the impression that ROTJ is being drastically altered story wise. The only thing remotely like that is the additions to the space and ground battles.
For the scene when Luke tells Leia that she’s his sister, are you still going to change it to her just being shocked and confused at what she just heard instead of saying “I know. Somehow, I’ve always known”?
I also take it that this means Vader’s line won’t be changed from “Obi-Wan once thought as you do” to “Your mother once thought as you do”.
There should be more human Jedi depicted in the PT and not just have it be mostly aliens with the rest of the majority being young children.
Ob-Wan, Qui-Gon, Mace Windu, and Anakin in AOTC & ROTS are the only ones to fit this category.
That was obviously the intention in ANH, but only because they hadn’t come up with the “Anakin became Vader” twist yet: “Darth Vader” was supposed to be his actual name. But once the father twist was written in ESB, Obi-Wan suddenly started saying “Vader” instead of “Darth”, implying that “Darth” was now a title given to Vader once he turned to the dark side.
If Darth Vader was meant to be his actual name then after they came up with the “Anakin became Vader” twist, it should be implied that this is the new name that he took on when he turned to the dark side. In ROTJ when Luke says “I’ve accepted the truth that you were once Anakin Skywalker, my father” Vader says to him “That name no longer has any meaning for me”.
The concept of the Sith is a good idea but all the details that Lucas outlined about them should be ignored.
In ANH when Tarkin says “The Jedi are extinct, their fire has gone out of the universe. You, my friend, are all that’s left of their religion”. This implies that Vader is meant to be a “Dark Jedi” or a Jedi who uses the dark side of the force, so the word Sith shouldn’t be used in the PT.
Things like the Rule of Two were just made up as an explanation for why Vader and Palpatine were the only ones in the OT.
When Obi-Wan says to Vader “Only a master of evil Darth” this implies that this is the first part of his name and not a title that was given to him, so all other Sith/Dark Jedi shouldn’t have Darth in their names. Palpatine should just be known as Palpatine, Count Dooku should just be known as Count Dooku, and when the name Darth Vader comes up it shouldn’t be revealed that it’s referring to Anakin.
The Battle of Yavin will be enhanced like the Battle of Hoth, it just won’t be extended, which is a good thing pacing-wise.
Are footage from the ROTJ Space Battle still going to be added to the Battle of Yavin?
ANH:R had some shots included from the ROTJ Space Battle that were unused footage from the Battle of Yavin.
The Holiday Special is 100 minutes too long.
15 - Fixed Vaders helmet during the Death Star battle where it has slipped back due to being pressed against the TIE
fighter seatVaders eye looks a little too reddish here.
I’m not sure why his eye looks so red in that screengrab, because it doesn’t look as saturated on my edit timeline.
That looks a lot better.

If I remember correctly, ROTJ is the one that’s going to have the most story alterations, correct?
If that’s true, then the story should be darker.
For example, more casualties during the Space and Ground battles.
During the Battle of Yavin in ANH, only three pilots survive in the end, and not a majority of Red Squadron making it back for a happier ending.
Are the audio commentaries from the DVD and Blu-ray releases the same or different?
Well, not quite: it’s still just a beta version for now.
If this is just a beta version, then how long till the actual restoration is complete?
4K80 is now completed.
