is there any Star Trek Enterprise fans here?
Time
Enterprise is almost non canonical in that they took too many liberties with the timeline. Berman stated that it technically wasn't a Star Trek show, but just "based on" Star Trek. That's why the title is just Enterprise and not Star Trek: Enterprise. It was supposed to be a departure from the norm, but ended up just being a mediocre show. I think Berman just said that mainly because it freed him to mostly overlook the previously established timelines and "sexify" the show with the half nude shots of T'Pol in the decon chamber.

Try to understand that Star Trek is Paramount's main cash cow, like Star Wars is to LFL. They charge insane prices for their box sets because rabid fans pay it, but it has given rise to the proliferation of cheap chinese counterfeits due to the high cost. Amazon has a complete ST collection listed, meaning every box set from each of the 5 shows as well as the new 20 DVD movie box set, and they want $2500 for it. It works out to be $85 per season of each show and $120 for the movies. It doesn't take a genius to figure out this isn't much of a price break, and that the sets can be found for far less seperately.

any one else pre-order 1 of these?or have these sets?
Time
I just received it today, it is a great set. The DTS is good, not great, but that has more to do with the source material-these aren't exactly $50 mil. blockbusters. I haven't ever seen 2 & 3 in widescreen since there hasn't been a domestic DVD release, and there may never be from the looks of things. This is the best release by far, I can't really imagine any potential future release topping it.

Info Wanted: 'TekWar' & 'Alien Nation' movies - has anyone preserved them?
Time
Yes, that was part of Columbia House's TV classics line or some such. After the studios realized how much could be made from sales of TV shows, they simply started distributing them on DVD themselves, and for a much better price. Believe it or not, the price it went for is about what the discs cost originally. Each individual DVD was about $20-$25 seperately, and you had to buy all 7 to get the entire series! I almost feel sorry for the people duped into paying that astronomical price. Anyway did you want to trade discs? Let me know via PM or email.

Possible banning of "freemail" addresses.
Time
This probably isn't a good idea, as many members are either unable or unwilling to give a "real" email address. He-man.org requires their members to use their ISP email address, but it has been that way for a long time. Suddenly requiring all current members to do this here would likely cause more problems than it solves. I wouldn't be opposed to new members having this requirement, but I think the older members should be "grandfathered" in.

Greg the Bunny

I have the Fox show on DVD, it was good while it lasted. It had potential to be great, but its life was cut short prematurely by the execs at Fox. Early cancelation seems to be the norm for most really creative, intelligent and/or esoteric shows, such as Nowhere Man, Firefly, Greg the Bunny, Brisco County Jr, etc. I think most shows like this were ahead of their time and thus not widely accepted at first. At least the studios are releasing these older shows onto DVD, albeit slowly.

Info Wanted: "The Story of Star Wars" Bonus DVD at Walmart: Is It Worth It?
Time
I stockpiled a few of these 3 disc sets today, since the WS version is almost sold out already. It isn't even available on the website anymore. They have started putting the FS version with the bonus disc out, but no one really wants fool screen. I wonder what marketing genius came up with the idea of putting the sticker on the CASES, instead of on the outside plastic wrapper. Anyway, if anyone needs one of these sets and can't find it locally, I may be able to help. You can PM me or email me by clicking the glasses icon above.

This may not be any consolation, but we humans are basically just highly developed apes, and it's simply easier to give in to dark impulses and animalistic behavior than to try and think and behave rationally. Remember what Yoda said-quicker, easier, more seductive... and it's true! Greed and anger are powerful driving forces. The veneer of civilization is much thinner than most people realize, and we all need to understand NO ONE is truly "safe", no matter what propaganda is shoved down your throat. I think this incident proves my point. It is extremely cowardly to stab someone who can't even defend themselves-I think if nothing else, karma will get him back eventually.
