Star Wars 1977 70mm sound mix recreation [stereo and 5.1 versions now available] (Released)
Time

Great reading through this thread and how you have recreated the 6 channel version in 5.1

I’ve been researching and starting to collect original 70’s/80’s cinema audio equipment, I’m looking at trying to make an actual 6 track version of the sound track. I will probably be able to adapt it to work on 7.1 systems.

I have some ideas on how to seperate the channels from a stero recording.

Would anyone be able to help me get hold of the cinema recordings of the 70mm? The mp3’s that were availible are no longer active on this website:

http://www.wideanglecloseup.com/starwarsaudio.html

Does anyone have copies of them?

Were there any other sources of the 70mm sound track I could use?

I will probably start my own thread to show my method as I don’t want to high jack this one or detract from hairy_hen’s amazing work.

Thanks

JR

Info Wanted: Blade Runner - color timings; which is the most accurate?
Time

Before the directors cut was released on blu ray, there was a cable boadcast in hi def.  So people captured it an offered it on a torrent site. I didn't manage to get a copy this was quite a few years ago.

The reason I think this would be interesting is that it was around 15 gig in size, so should have less compression than the vesion that was released on blu ray which shared a disc with 2 other cuts.

The final cut I find has a touch of a blue tint much like the star wars blue ray release.  I have no idea why they think that makes it look more modern.. also they framed the final cut slightly smaller?

Does anyone have a copy of the pre blu ray Blade Runner directors cut hi def broadcast?
