My ranking if anyone cares: (Also my first post on this site!)

The Empire Strikes Back
The greatest sequel of all time in my opinion. Throws our beloved characters in a an even more fun journey with more peril than ever before. I love watching Han and Leia fall in love. I love learning about the force from Yoda. And I love seeing Luke and Leia broken by then, having everything fallen apart. Perfect setup to Return. -
A New Hope
Perfect introduction to the universe. Fun plot that never gets old with amazing characters that we now all love. Changed cinema forever. -
The Force Awakens
Now I know this is way higher then most people’s lists but I absolutely adored this film. It was the first one I got to see in theaters which was exhilarating. I waited in line for 7 hours - you could just feel the electricity in the air. And man, when that opening theme went off everyone went bananas. This movie is fantastic for a couple reasons. It has a break-neck speed that grabs you by the collar and barrels down a sprawling new journey that is just so much fun to experience over and over. It has fantastic characters yet again with more heart and personality then the prequels could ever accomplish. And it homages the originals. I wouldn’t say it rips of A New Hope, but just gives the OT some love before flipping everything in TLJ. -
The Last Jedi
I thought The Last Jedi was great. I think its WAY more ambitious than TFA which I respect, and has some of the best moments in the saga. I just feel like TFA is a more complete film from start to finish. TLJ kinda get messy with all the Canto Bight nonsense and trying to juggle so many themes. But I completely respect this film for flipping the script that TFA setup in a brilliant, jaw-dropping way. -
Return of the Jedi
I enjoy Return of the Jedi a ton, but I just feel like it kinda falls short to replicate the heart and fun of its predecessors. I just think the story isn’t as exciting and the characters don’t have as many lovable lines to work with. I love the Battle over Endor space battle though, and the final confrontation between Luke and Vader is golden of course. -
Rogue One
This film is extremely messy. The first 2/3 are so choppy before it gains some direction. Jyn is a horrible character, her arc from wanting no part of the cause to dying for it is super abrupt. But, for what its worth, some moments sprinkled in this film have so much emotion. And the 3rd act is absolute breathtaking, hands down the best space battle in the saga. -
Revenge of the Sith
I have destroyed the prequels too many times in my life so I’m gonna chill here. This movie doesn’t have a very good sense of direction, we don’t know where were going really. But when we do get there, I think the turn of Anakin was done really well, and it was great watching the Republic fall. Of course most of the dialogue is stale, and the CGI resembles a PS2 shooter. -
The Phantom Menace
Interesting plot but not well executed. We all know how this dumpster fire turned out. -
Attack of the Clones
lmao
