There are currently 923 views of this on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB86vy30HUY (This version has stock music.)

That youtube video is for the 4K version by Mecha Salesman.

I think Gonk was referring to reviews or feedback for your 1080 rip of it?

I don’t really know how to check, but the restoration work is done by Mecha Salesman.

My 1080p version of Mecha Salesman's 4K upscale of EditDroid's The Holiday Special (Released)

I have made a 1080p version of Mecha Salesman’s 4K upscale restoration of the EditDroid’s Holiday Special.

If you want the download, PM me.

Mod Edit: some information from Mecha Salesman re his 4K upscale project (of which Super Cookie 64’s 1080p rip is taken from):-

'This is my attempt at a 4K upscaled Remaster of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special with all commercials and original promo bumpers included.

Based on the current best available source, the EditDroid Release of a Broadcast tape for non-stock Live action sequences (a reconstructed source only one step removed from the Master Tape), followed by a 1080p copy of the animated sequence from the Blu Ray (which seems to be based on a second hand recording due to the colorbanding present, but still presents the best native resolution transfer available), I used a Bicubic upscale process, light color grading retouch, and a few filters to try and make it look as good as reasonably possible. It’s not going to be as good as the master tape, but this is probably the best we’ll get unless the tape is ever recovered or officially released.

I have imported every FX shot from the 4K HDR version of a New Hope into this edit, making the shots (nearly) frame identical with their original versions, only looking much sharper. I took the bumper and the Star Wars toy commercial from one source, and the rest of the commercials from another. I did not treat them with any special filter since they’re included more as a bonus and don’t match the quality of the original master, but they are cut into place where they fit as they were presented in 1978.

With Commercials and bumpers, this should be one of the most complete and sharpest looking versions of the Holiday Special on the web, at least visually.’
