Why I'm not so worried anymore
Time
depends on the aspec ratio of the original. The TV shows aspec ratio is pretty much designed for 16x9 tvs thats why you get no black bars. movies like Star wars that are 2.35:1 have the bigest black bars cas that is not a 16x9 ratio. Then theres the movies in 1.85:1. It all depends on the aspect ratio of the content you are watching.

this should help

and this on animorphic transfers

Problems with 2004 ANH disc?
Time
the freezing and crashing was an artistic decission I guess. I watched mine very closely last night and I don't seem to have any blocking freezing shutting down the dvd player problems. in chapter 26 tarkins voice does get quieter like some mention, I dont find it to noticable unless Im listening for it. no blocking up there either. freezes a second when changes layers after tarkin and darth are talking and he says "she lied" part. overall the movie seemed a little dark but that could be my tv. also I did notice which I think is my dvd player or tv on 2 occassions when c3po tells the storm trooper he was gonna take R2 for maintinence the background seems wavy and also when luke and leia are on the bridge before the swing across whe they are shown from far away frokm across the bridge. Like I said I don't think these are the disks cause I dont see it when I pay it on the computer
