Did anyone ever get in touch with Rhodesisgod about the interviews he filmed? I know he runs a horror review site at www.bloodtypeonline.com and always conducts excellent interviews.

I sent him a email today actually right before you posted that
This is what he said....

I do have some stuff from a Pittsburgh comicon Q&A from a few years
ago, but I would have to convert it from Mini-DV to DVD, which I
cannot do currently.

Anyone know how to do that?

Hmmm...He could also just run analog wire into a DVD recorder. Perhaps someone could do it for him. I'll try to talk to him about it for the project.

From THE BURNING laserdisc? Sounds a bit suss since Paramount put out SCREAM GREATS. Are you sure this isn't from the Dutch (?) DVD of DAY OF THE DEAD? I'd be interested to know in the quality and whether or not its an NTSC->PAL conversion. You or meedermow might wanna compare it to the screengrabs here:

I'm positive the cassette versions that Tom Savini sells are ones he has personally recorded off the laserdisc. I've done my own DVDR from the laserdisc but I haven't put it through any filters. Just SVIDEO in and then rendered it out at the maximum bitrate.

Eitherway, I'm happy for this to see some kinda release. Especially since Ash595 did up a wonderful cover a few pages back. And then maybe even Savini himself can start selling the DVDs at conventions, rather than the tapes. Not for profit, of course...

I'll send you a copy of the DVD version if you like. It is definitely part of The Burning release - as the menu is seen at one point. The person who made the original conversion didn't start a new chapter - he just started the Scream Greats segment playing when the movie finished. I picked it up from a trader on-line last year so I don't know the exact source.

Meedermow - I'm working on getting all the conversions of Scream Greats and The Directors: George A Romero to you this week!

Is The Directors episode still being included on this set? It's commercially available on the Season of the Witch/There's Always Vanilla DVD and really shouldn't be included here.

I don't know if it will be included or not - but as stated above - I have The Directors: George A Romero on the Season of the Witch DVD as well as a recent DVD burn of the UPDATED version that aired on REELZ during October. It includes a short clip and mention of Land of the Dead. I am sending both versions to Meedermow as the updated version is not available on DVD.

Meedermow mentioned he would like to take a look at them so I am more than happy to oblige.

And what's your source for Scream Greats, Starkiller? I ask because I have the laserdisc sitting right here.

Perhaps I got the disc number wrong. I thought this was the second disc in the set.

I have one DVD-R transfer from the Laserdisc of The Burning which included Scream Greats and I also have another that I am converting from a recent VHS I purchased from Tom Savini as an alternative if needed.

I brought these up on the thread before and no one was interested - but Meedermow told me he would like to take a look at them.

I just got my copy of disc two in the mail yesterday. I want to say "good job" to Meedermow and everyone involved. This is a fantastic project that will make a lot of Dawn of the Dead fans very happy! Right now I am doing the happy dance of the dead.

Meedermow - I'm working on getting all the conversions of Scream Greats and The Directors: George A Romero to you this week! I've mentioned this project to some Romero fans on other forums and some have expressed interest in making possible contributions. So stay tuned!

Thanks all!

Fan DVDS with MPEG Streamclip, Premiere 1.5 & Encore 1.5...Is it possible?
Time
Hello everyone! I've been reading through these boards for several months now to try to find the answers to my questions. Although there are several highly informative topics and guides - I have yet to find one that describes the process I should follow when using the programs at my disposal.

I am running Windows XP on a PC. I've downloaded MPEG Streamclip. I have purchased copies of Adobe's Premiere 1.5 and Encore 1.5.

I would like to figure out how to make fan preservations from this series of programs. I've had a limited amount of success - but unfortunately I am not very PC savvy and have had some difficulties. However - I have a huge back log of rarities that I want to preserve for posterity and horror fans everywhere.

So I've manged to convert my DVD-R to MPEG with audio using the MPEG Streamclip. However - when I pull the MPEG clip into Premiere is when the problems start. After allowing the footage to conform to Premiere - it ends up with a few imperfections. Since these programs are at least an hour or so in length - perhaps this is part of the problem - however I have had success when working with large clips captured directly into the program before so I was hoping the size wouldn't be an issue. I can move the file into Premiere - but something bizarre happens because I end up with more video than audio - and syncing problems ensue!

It is my great hope that discovering the source of the audio dropouts would allow me to commence with editing the movie in Premiere - and then it would be a simple matter of following that process and exporting to Encore that would allow me to build my DVD's.

Any advice you have to offer would be appreciated. As I stated - I consider myself a tech newbie - so please be gentle.

Thanks.

I want to make the Machete Head zombie look like the iconic half-head zombie from the official Ultimate Edition cover. I've made a quick mock-up of what I mean. I can make a dedicated attempt sometime in the near future but I'd like for someone else to do it if anyone here is any good at it because chances are you'll be better than me.

Anyway... please excuse the horrendous colors that make him look... well, like this:

No, but I guess I could make a hi res scan for you. I was thinking of just making a few minor alterations to the VHS cover but I'm sure you'd come up with something much classier.

If anyone is interested, I have an 8" x 12" print of the cover artwork from Scream Greats. It has Tom Savini's signature in silver directly under the machete-head zombie - but there are no other writing or words on the print.
