Send me a message I’ll dig out the donor encode for you.
Thank you! I sent you a PM.

Titanic would definitely be a treat to watch on film. How is this project coming along? 😎
The hard drive has been sent from the scanner to a friend who is making a backup copy of the scans, then it’ll be forwarded to me. It’s going to take about 20 hours to dump my scans from it to another drive.
Great, looking forward to it. Take as much time as you need.
Any updates on the status of this project?

The timing is either coincidental, or someone cashing on Christopher Lee's passing.

What I find interesting is the different in camera mattes on various sequences in the movie.
I say cashing in.
I guess considering how bad the transfer is to begin with, it's still pretty amazing how DrDre can make this DVNR source "pop" and bring out the detail, something that I'd never thought would be possible.
Thanks again for the detailed info RU.08
Gotcha, thanks.
Just curious, how is the motion smearing gonna be handled in this GOUT release, or does this source not have any of those issues?

Although this should be moved to the Jedi thread it's very interesting indeed, and based on the frame samples looks like it's a low fade, which is great.
Great work on the preview Team1!
It's turning out amazing, and with the final pass, it will look even more fantastic, no doubt about it! I'm just thrilled "Star Wars" will finally be enjoyed in film quality....and bring back those old childhood memories!
Great work DrDre. Maybe Harmy can benefit from this as well on possible future Despecialized Edition updates, just in case he can't go completely GOUT free in certain portions of the film.
The force is strong with this one. Great going guys!
Can anyone be kind enough to send me a link?
Would love to see the theatrical cut, since I haven't seen it since the 90's. I own the director's cut, but I feel the tone of the theatrical suits the film much better.

Just turned in my grades - can start working on it again on Monday.
Awesome!
I was just watching Empire the other day. It's so nostalgic experiencing these films in 16mm in it's original form with the dirt and cigarette burns. Thanks again for your hard work!
How's progress coming along? Looking forward to this!
I think the Despecialized Edition that Harmy & Company have put together is simply "magical". Lucas farted on my childhood, and you guys have brought back the great memories to it's original glory. Thank you!
Harmy, ever considered doing your own commentary track for the Despecialized Edition?
Would be great to hear your personal take about the films as you discuss the various changes you had to overcome to bring the films back to it's theatrical cuts. I know you have the sources trailer, but an added commentary would be epic! Just a thought.... :)
