I’m finally being tested for medication.
I’m finally being tested for medication.
I honesty don’t understand why Blade Runner was rated R.
The instances of violence are very few and pretty tame. The only instance of strong swearing is when Roy Batty calls Tyrell “fucker”, which in other versions has been changed to “father”. Joanna Cassidy’s topless scene isn’t titilating at all, just a woman getting dressed.
One line in the theatrical cut’s narration contains a slur.

Goncharov. I loved every second of it. Martin Scorsese’s best movie by a long shot, and quite possibly the best movie of 1973, maybe even the entire 1970s/20th century.
A piece of media, especially movies and TV Shows, should never be recommended purely by popularity or “hey this is so awesome go see it!”. Mainly because it just makes you feel like shit if you don’t like them, plus going in blind can really help make an honest opinion on the work.
Guy who did all those horny covers for Marville.
Yup. His art definitely compliments him looking like a coomer and is why I even posted it. He practically is one.
Notice the similarities?
(Make sure you know what the two images actually are of, before you reply, so you won’t take this out of context.)
Least favorite movie: Boxtrolls
I know it seems random to do this now, but I want to clear this ancient post up. It’s certainly not my least favourite movie (at least not now), I don’t hate the movie, nor do I hate claymation/stop motion as a medium.
No, the reason why was almost solely due to the infamous cheese allergy scene. I have always and still cannot stand almost any form of body horror/facial horror, especially things swelling up. It’s a universal no-no for movie viewings from me.
Also, please do not post any GIFs or photos of the scene as I have zero desire to see that again.
Here are two obscure movies from the ‘70s given the infamous "copy and paste the main actors’ faces on a bland background" treatment.
I agree with everyone in this thread that I hate these types of covers with a burning passion. It sends the “cheap shitty quality TV b-movie” vibes from me and creates an awful first impression if one has never even heard of the movie. Just use the poster art for Pete’s sake! This was pretty much an epidemic in early DVD releases in the 2000s.
Fortunately, despite the 2021 Blu-Ray release of Jeremy having this rather uncanny-looking 2d cover, it still is far more professional looking, appealing to the eye, and far less lazy.
Also, yikes, this thread has a LOT of broken file links!
Indeed. Thank you. I need to do both what you said and maybe include some meditation as well.
I also want to clear something up on my very first big rant.
In my first big rant I complained about sexualization of women in the media.
Nowadays I don’t mind some sexualization as long as it’s not Frank Miller levels of it. Sexualization is a spectrum and it’s all really about intent.
I feel so paranoid, I always feel like I am in danger. I’m actually crying as I write this because I’m so paranoid. That’s why I started ranting. Because I wanted to pin my paranoia on something. I feel like society and “the establishment” is out to get me.
I know it’s been dead for a while now (a few years), but…
R.I.P Angry Dude. You can have your ChatGPT but nothing will match the charm and fun of Angry Dude.
You will be sorely missed. 😞
I’ve finally just watched Elvis.
It was great. But what I really appreciated was the anti-establishment message.
I know I haven’t watched any and only similar stuff, but the point still stands.
Fuck. Porn. (No jokes please)
I’m a bit successful in staying off the internet, but those horrible memories still persist.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could delete bad memories at will?
Bad memories are some of the worst things ever.
I am sorry for that big rant. I need some time off from the internet.
I am sick of compulsive internet use and FUCKING SEX ON THE INTERNET PORN AND SHIT THEY SUCK THEY KILL MY SOUL

I don’t have FOMO. More like I’m so fucking tired of always missing out.
I feel you, man. More and more, I get the feeling I’ve been wasting my life. Almost every time I have an opportunity to do something fun with other people, I pass it up for some dumb reason and just stare at my phone while everyone else has fun without me.
Fortunately, I have been attempting to change that recently. A couple nights ago, I attended a party I wasn’t planning to go to, and it was the most fun experience I’ve had in a long time. If I can just remove the mental blocks that discourage me from going outside my comfort zone, I think my life will become way more satisfying.
I’d you think about it, the Amish probably have no idea that Weird Al’s Amish Paradise even exists.
I like A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

JEDIT: Crap I went twice in a row.
I think this userbox from RationalWiki sums up my beliefs on religion quite well:
“This user is an atheist but would be fine with a world where Christians were more like Jesus and less like Jerry Falwell.”
(I’m an agnostic, though.)
I used to be a huge fan of the Beatles a few years ago, but, while I still like them, I only marginally like them now. I used to prefer their later stuff but now I prefer their earlier stuff. I sometimes feel that their later stuff was a bit too out there (which I think was what they were going for, but the point still stands.
Also I could never get into the Stones. I like a handful of their songs and the rest I couldn’t care less about.
There’s a lot of other artists who fall under this category of “I listened to a few of their songs and stopped caring, either because the songs mostly sound the same or I’m not a huge fan of their style”, including Simon & Garfunkel, Don McLean, The Animals, and many, many more. This doesn’t mean I dislike them per se, but more that I just can’t truly get into them and become a fan.
