In order to avoid having THREE versions of Episode III on offer (current/main version, alternate version, alternate stuff described above but Padme still lives on Alderaan), I could simply reinstate the youngling stuff into the main version as an update and have the fully alternate version in which Padme dies and Yoda fights Sidious.

Or, we could really just legitimately offer three cuts of Episode III to fit with anyone’s taste on these points:

• Padme lives, Yoda does not fight Sidious
• Padme dies, Yoda fights Sidious
• Padme lives, Yoda fights Sidious

All three would feature youngling murder, for the reason that a major canon project closely tied to the Skywalker Saga (The Kenobi show) makes central use of this story point.

Thoughts? Outrage?

What are your thoughts on reinstating Padme helping start the Rebellion into ROTS? I know her scenes can be pacing killers but I think adding back the deleted scenes help sew the seeds of the plot lines that are expanded on in Andor and also makes her feel less like a fridged woman and more like her proactive Clone Wars counterpart.

Count me in as interested to view the current cut! Sounds like this has come along nicely. Just curious, have you seen the cut by Redditor derikwkim? I thought his edit was very well done and will be curious to see how this differs from it!

Been a fan of your cuts since around 2015. Just wanted to say that I watched this cut with Family the other day and we all had a great time. Ironically, most of the “gotcha” moments where they claimed they realized it was a fanedit were actual cuts from the movie (ie, the Tuskan Raiders scene and Obi Wan phoning the jedi on Geonosis).

This edit has come such a far way, and I actually applaud the additional scenes you have placed back in with recent versions. The factory scene in particular is a triumph, as to me it fixed a pacing issue the original cut had and actually flowed well to become a fun and exciting scene.

That balcony kiss sure has come far. I remember when it was deep blue. The fact that it looks like an actual sunset scene from a theatrical film now blows my mind.

I’ve come to appreciate your Episodes I and II as my definitive versions of the prequels. Oddly enough, no fanedit has ever bested ROTS theatrical for me, but it may just be my nostalgic connection to that movie.

Thanks for putting so much energy into the prequels, the end product was definitely worth it.

Aside from the crawl, what are the changes coming to the next version? Apologies, but I am not sure if there is a running post anywhere detailing this.

Has anyone toyed with the idea of only revealing Leia through Kenobi’s POV? In any cut I have seen so far, her early scenes just seem so jarring compared to the somber time spent on Tattooine. I almost wonder if you could cut everything Leia related prior to Kenobi rescuing her, and have the fact that she is Leia be cemented for the audience at the same time Kenobi meets her. Obviously, SW fans would know who she was based on Organa’s request to Kenobi, but for the pace of the movie both dramatically and scene to scene, it could be an interesting idea to have the audience meet Leia and form their opinions on her personality while Kenobi does.

This is a fantastic project. I have been following the thread for a while, and I finally had some time to check out an episode. I skipped straight to your episode that focuses on the Mandalore Corruption Arc, as it is one that I absolutely despise in the show. I had my doubts about how these episodes could be fixed, but I was pleasantly surprised by the product you finished.

I am glad that you take the time to outline your goals and ideas on this project, as I can say that I agree with them all. Clone Wars is in such an uncanny position in the Star Wars mythos, as it is simultaneously some of the most high quality and important Star Wars content while also being designed to be a cartoon aimed mainly at a young demographic. Your edit really helps guide the shows tone and not stray into the elements that feel too “cartoony”, while keeping everything that made the show special.

I really do hope you see this project through to Rebels as well, as I think that show could benefit from an edit like this even more.

That opening sequence is fantastic. Everything I’ve seen tells me this is definitely going to be an edit to check out.

Have you put much thought into your plans for the Anakin flashback scene? I even thought that it could make an interesting cold open to the edit, similar to the Whites buying their home in BB. Show us a glimpse of the good times before bringing us into the crushing reality. I’m not sure that the scene ends in such a way where that type of spin could be accomplished, but it was just a thought.
