with the exception of Trilogy: Part II and Return/Revenge of the Evil Leaper being in their split versions instead of their movie cuts (and for some Lee Harvey Oswald) then the Mill Creek releases are pretty much completely restored, I reconstructed Trilogy II and Return/Revenge

Where could I find the reconstructed versions of Trilogy II and Return/Revenge? Also about Lee Harvey Oswald, would that be correct on the mill creek release or no? thx

I shared both my reconstructions on myspleen but I can share them with you in PMs if you like, also for Lee Harvey Oswald, sadly it’s split on the Mill Creek version but correct on the Fabulous Films BD, I also shared that on myspleen so it’s no longer exclusive to their release

Home Alone 2 - 35mm Scanning Project Opportunity

Out of curiosity, is there anything wrong with the blu-rays or Home Alone?

Home Alone 2 on Blu Ray has a rather low bitrate and the transfer is ok, not great. I have the UK Blu Ray and I think that looks fine but I’d love to see a film scan of it. HA2 has only had one release in HD in 2009 but the original has had three different remasters.

The 2015 Mastered-in-4K 1080p Blu Ray of Home Alone (the original) got raved about on Blu Ray.com but personally I thought it was a bit too dark and over-saturated. The UHD 4K disc (from what I’ve seen) seems to be more accurate. I remember the “Family Fun Edition” DVD being quite accurate to how I grew up watching it on TV/VHS and I assume the original 2008 Blu Ray used that same master.

Yes you are correct, the original 2009 BD uses the same master for the Family Fun edition, only issue with the 4K is the exclusion of the original stereo mix which both the 2009 and 2014 disks had.

I can also agree with the 2014 master looking a bit off, as with several 4K masters from Fox unfortunately. It’s a little skewed to the yellow side of things (Edward Scissorhands, Porky’s, and 3 Women are perfect examples) and thankfully the 4K based on the caps I’ve seen eliminates that issue. I never understood honestly why Fox has skewed several of its masters to the yellow spectrum but my friend theorizes it’s their attempt to recreate what an image would look like projected through a bulb.

Help Wanted: PolyGram Films (1997-1999) Logo Restoration

Also the term “Universal licensed from Polygram” is inaccurate, Universal flat out owns much of their library now, MGM owns everything before 1996 iirc

When I say “most of Polygram’s library,” I mean that they own most of them that originally contained the Icarus-style logo. While the rest that MGM owns, originally use the 1992-1996 logo.

I think one of the only pre-Universal PolyGram titles that MGM doesn’t own is Trainspotting, but that’s only due to Miramax having US distribution rights

I’m pretty sure the UK prints had the Icarus logo, I know the UK VHS release had a home video variant of it

Help Wanted: PolyGram Films (1997-1999) Logo Restoration
Time

I know the original Big Lebowski DVD and VHS opened with this logo but I’m not sure if it was the one seen theatrically or not

Current releases plaster it with the Universal logo as you said but play the regular fanfare for it and then a black screen accompanies the start of the music for the movie (the Polygram logo played over it originally), but here’s where it gets bizarre

In TV versions the Universal logo plays in silence and the end of the logo is when the music for the movie starts

If someone could obtain the original closing credits along with John Milner’s original death date and get them scanned, I’m hoping to integrate them with the Blu-ray footage as part of my 1973 theatrical cut restoration, which I plan to start work, and a thread, on after I finish the 1971 theatrical cut of THX-1138.

Don’t forget the mono mix as well and the opening

Beverly Hills, 90210 - with original music (Released)
Time

as a bit of an update, my friend is redoing seasons 1-4 since these were done a while ago and he wasn’t exactly satisfied with them

I’ve also started a youtube channel where I post individual clips of the show with the original music restored, the channel just started so it’s still very small but if anyone wants a link to it please PM me and let me know

@DarkJedi I would love to see this. Are there any extras or behind the scenes stuff in your version? I have an old rip of the unrated version but am always interested in comparing 😃

the Shout! Factory Friday the 13th collection has an HD version of the unrated cut so this thread is no longer necessary
