***The ADigitalMan non-Star Wars DVD Info and Feedback Thread***
Time

Is there anywhere else to find the HP movies 3 and 5, dual layer (or even just single)? Fanedit.info only has links for the mp4, and Googling isn't turning up anything with decent seeds.

Or, I guess, would anyone put them back up on rapidshare? I know I won't be getting an actual answer on the board, but can someone PM me with any info?

The one thing that has bugged me since the EU and prequels established "Darth" as a title, not a name: editing out Obi-Wan's constant use of it during the final duel and replacing it with "Vader." To me, at least, it's a glaring continuity error, and annoying even in context with the other two original movies, as everyone uses "Vader" when not using his full title.

Waiting for Episode VII during the lean years (1984-1998)

Dude, just....what? Thank the gods CGI didn't exist when George made the OT, or we wouldn't be here arguing for them against the PT, because he would have been so busy spending the meager budget on a planet being blown up. CGI is shit; CGI is overused and a fucking overused technical achievement. At least puppets are solid and real, and far more realistic than an obvious graphic that the actors aren't focusing on properly. They should have asked Bob Hoskins to give them a few pointers.

And yeah, so the OT had bad reviews. So did the PT, yes. But if you read reviews for any movie, they all have some in their closets somewhere. But I'll guarantee the PT's reviews are far more consistantly negative, if not downright critical of how shitty the movies became, whereas the OT was at least a moderately original movie with no prior storyline to ruin. And whereas the acting can also be blamed in part on a director who can't direct his way out of a paper bag, George really seemed to hit rock bottom with the PT. There's no subtlety. For shit's sake, Episode I is a weak copy of Episode IV! It isn't a trilogy, it's a cash cow with pretty pictures. Lucas had an excuse for his actors not always hitting their marks during a time when he was a less influential (and therefore less likely to haul in the big names for every role), but he doesn't have one when the PT is full of seasoned, well-known actors.

The day I saw Phantom Menace in the theatre, I sat during the credits absolutely stunned, wondering what the hell I had just seen. There was no meat to the story; there was no heart. Instead, I had wasted my money on a special effects masturbation when I had been expecting the equivalent of a heartfelt lovemaking session. A piece of shit that had contradicted the three movies before it within the first ten minutes that left me completely shocked. I wanted to cry.

Instead, I saved my money. I've watched I once, II twice, and III twice. And I never bought the DVDs. Perhaps if this big mondo super boxset comes out with the options of OOT versus OT (I mean, if Apocalypse effing Now can do it....) plus the PT, I'll finally buy them.

First Impressions of the OOT ...

I dunno. I'm annoyed at the faint wobbling of the picture in spots. But just to have an official copy of the original DVDs, I'll probably buy IV and V (since I bought VI at Wal-Mart today instead of waiting; they only had one widescreen left) just to have them around. The picture quality itself doesn't bug me, because when you grow up on taped VHS, then only slightly better VHS, you don't mind as much.

Though some parts are noticeably pixelated, to put it bluntly. Sigh.

And is it just computer problems, or has anyone else noticed the left and right edges of the picture have oddball colored stripes instead of extending all the way across?

I'm just laughing at the fact they felt the need to re-edit the bloody crawl to look "more like a block" and to not end a paragraph with one word. Honestly. That's just effing petty in comparison to the other changes. And changing an entire scene just to add in a digital sunset? Yes, Lucas, we get it; you have a shiny computer that makes pretty pictures.

Also: if you want to fix a scene, add rontos. They solve everything. Have to add colour to a scene? Add a ronto! Need to hide the fact you're an incompetent directory? Add a ronto!

Tried that; it only lets me go up to 2.4x, no matter what discs I use. But I also found out, after some searching, that the effing drive only goes up to 8x. So it's a new drive for me, or I have a hundred useless coasters.

I think I might have bought foolishly, but has anyone else tried out Sony AccuCore DVDs for burning? They won't even work in my burner, and Nero only goes up to 2.4X speed; the discs are 16x. I've finally figured out how to burn a decent DVD, and now my main bundle won't even work. Or can I change Nero somehow to burn faster?

The exact same way. I have Nero 6 and it's no different.

The Nero 6 I use does not come up the same way, the windows are totally different. There is only one window and it will only let me put in video files, when I try to put in DVDrom folders it says no compatible file found.

I have the same problem, even after I went to the homepage and upgraded. All I get is Express. Which is really driving me nuts, because I stopped using Nero because of problems burning and switched to BurnOn CD&DVD, which is giving me DVDs that work only for a length of time, then start freezing up or skipping ahead. (Except for on my computer. O.o )

Can anyone seed the EditDroid edits? All three (Mysterious Mysteries - SW Pre Anh, EditDroid - 2 - Empire and EditDroid - 3 Jedi) are barely moving; half the time BitLord tells me no one's even seeding or leeching when MySpleen lists perhaps one or two. And the IsoMix would be nice too; no one's seeding that one at all, it seems. I'm seeding ADM's Episodes I and II, plus BLAK0019.

Not sure why thats happening. Just use DVDShrink to create an .ISO image file of the dvd then burn the image with either Nero or DVDDecrypter. If the discs aren't being recognised by your drive then you might need to get a firmware update to be able to use them. What DVD-RW drive are you using?

But it burns just fine with my Fujifilm DVD-Rs, which is why I'm confused. The drive's an NEC DVD-RW ND-2510A.

And how does DVD Rebuilder work? Do you need that CCD (or whatever it was) plug-in? Because from when I got it, it says you have to buy the plug-in, and I'm a rather cheap, broke retail employee.

The "ADigitalMan Special Editions" DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

I am so new to these forums, I had to make an account to ask this question after a good month of browsing.

I torrented ADM's ROTS. Now, I'm trying to burn it to DVD, which means I had to A: lower the bitrate, as it was too large, and B: repeatedly hit my head against the wall because I can't get it to work. These are the files that came in the video folder that Nero Vision allows me to see:

Video_TS.vob
VTS_01_0.vob
files VTS_01_01-5.vob

When I copy them and allow Nero to combine similiar files, I end up with Video_TS.vob, VTS_01_0.vob, and VTS_01_01-5.vob combined together. So I have three chapters, one of which (Video_TS) is just a box of black and white bars. What is this file, and is it supposed to go on the disc?
