STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Now that I’ve had a chance to see ESB:R, it’s beautiful.
Adywan, thank you so much for your hard work. You are a rare gem, sir.

I can’t comment on everything, but here are some of my favs…

 • addition of any vehicles.
 • Rebel screens with added graphics.
 • The AT-AT hatch opening with Snow Troopers standing inside! WoW!
 • The Tie Bombers bombs creating damage on the asteroid surface.

I know there are more but I just can’t remember them all right now. I’m still in a little bit of shock.
Now, on to more viewings!!

Having trouble with the MySpleen torrent. It’s stuck at “finding peers”. I’ve had no issues with other torrents. Can anyone please help?

Figured it out. It’s something to do with the spleen torrent.
I downloaded the wordpress torrent and it worked just fine.

Just wanted to stop in and say “Thanks!” to Ady (and all others involved) for all the hard work.
If the result is anything close to what ANH:R was, then I think we’ll all be quite happy.
Nice to see that things are wrapping up even if the wampa did not work out.
I have a blank DL disc that has been waiting for this movie.

Here’s hoping that we’ll get some re-ups of ANH:R as well.

Harmy, good luck on your finals.

I've got both the DVD5 and MKV versions, but have only burned the DVD5 copy (which looks great btw). My question is ... with only having a DVD burner, can I do anything with the MKV to shrink it down to a DVD9? I've got programs like Freemake that will accept MKVs and burn them to a DVD, but I'm afraid that the compression might be too much. Need some help from the experts.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here.

Do you have a media player that can play MKV files from a DVD9? Do you have a Blu-ray player?

Are you hoping to downconvert the MKV to the DVD format, gaining a slight edge in picture quality over the DVD5?

Yeah, I have a BD player and yeah I was hoping to gain significantly more in terms of pic quality. I was also hoping to be able to accomplish this with the MKV, but it sounds like I just need to be patient and wait for the AVCHD version.

Thanks.

I believe you can use mkvmerge to split an mkv into multiple discs based on time or duration. A split will generally occur at the nearest keyframe, regardless of where you specify the split.

What I am not sure about is whether the bitrate of the mkv will be too much to play back from a DVD without glitching. Perhaps that is why the AVCHD will be half the size of the mkv.

If you don't mind wasting a few DVDs and changing discs during playback, I suggest you test it out, otherwise wait for the AVCHD.

Bluray burners are becoming much cheaper and are worth the investment if you are going HD as it preserves the maximum quality and saves a lot of stuffing about with time consuming extra compression: the LG is about $85.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

Harmy,

Best of luck to you on your exam. I hope it goes well.

For anyone else that can answer,

Sounds good, I'll just wait. I did not realize that a AVCHD version would be available so quickly.

A standard DVD is my only option at this point. I do have a stand alone BD player, but only a DVD-DL burner in the PC.

Thanks for the info and quick responses.

Oh, and those screen shots are stunning!

This will be a day long remembered.

Thanks to Harmy and everyone else involved in making this available.

I saw on MS that the total size is 15gb+. Is it recommended to burn this to a DVD5? I could remove the foreign language tracks to eliminate some of the compression. I might actually have a blank DVD9 somewhere. Or should I just wait for the proper release? Thanks.

Funny thing you mentioned the V3 DVD's, along with the BLU V2 I am going to use that lossless avi from from that project and encode a new DVD video file(V4 if you wish) if there is interest and it can be swapped out to make a new V4 DVD Set, these will be encoded at the same bitrate as the V3 but will have all the enhancements of the BLU V2, then I will upload them to Spleen, again if there is even any interest in DVD video.

@dj_I'm down for a V4 DVD set too if they are made available. I really enjoyed V3, but I screwed up the layer break somehow using ImgBurn. If the V4 set becomes available I'm gonna order some more DL discs and try with another program.

Thanks to all involved for the time and effort on this project!

Hunt's review is up:

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/reviewshd/bdreviews091611.html

Overall, I think it's very fair, especially the parts about this is such an exhaustive set that no one is going to buy another one unless it has the original cuts. He did mention color fixes and transparent cockpit fixes (which are not true from what we've seen), and that maybe the colors and crushed blacks ARE deliberate.

He could have only posted these two lines and left the rest out.

Bill Hunt said:

I've come to expect changes every time these films are released and I've kept my original laserdisc copies. The strange thing is, I think most fans wouldn't mind the changes at all as long as the original versions were available on the Blu-rays as well.

dark_jedi, any more thought given to uploading the new encodes? I've got v3 ready to burn, but I don't want to waste the discs if a even better version is coming.

Thanks,

ST

You may as well go ahead and burn them, I am only thinking about doing this, most may not want to, or know how to, swap out the video, plus I am not done yet with ESB, and I may go back and do a few more tweaks on SW and ROTJ, but just not 100% sure yet, so even if I did decide to do it, it is going to be a while before it is done.

Will do. Thanks.

AH, if you post in the thread that is cool, I totally forgot about all the excitement from the recent Blu-ray Set findings, and I can understand being excited, I have been there myself before, so go ahead and PM, post in thread, it's all good.

I know I said I am going to retire from anything DVD LOL, but I am considering 1 thing, and it really would not be that hard, or take much time, but I may do new encodes for the V3 DVD Set and upload the new video files for those that may want to swap them out, the new encodes will be encoded from the 720p Blu-ray lossless avi file I have, some have shown interest in this so I am thinking about it, plus ANH has a couple of real bad frames fixed, and ESB has a ton of them fixed, so we will see.

I'm interested too, dj!

I just finished downloading all v3 films last night and I was going to get some DVD-DLs today, but if this is a good possibility then I'll wait. As someone else posted, these would be v3.1 or v4, right?

Thx.
