Check out the closed auction too.

Where's the closed one?

I meant check out the closed auctions. Lots of interesting scraps of VistaVision film from FX sequences, including Luke and Leia in the window shot from the end of ESB.

Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness

It's no wonder the director who made Parts: The Clonus Horror sued, and got an undisclosed amount of dough. He actually gave MST3K some credit for lifting his film out of obscurity and helping with the settlement.

If you went with the "It was all a dream!" angle ending, Ewan's nightmare sequence could certainly work with that. Not to mention Hayden in the bathtub from Awake.

I'm in the Wato is anti-semitism camp.

From wikipedia

Allegations of antisemitismIt has been suggested that this character is offensive because he resembles a stereotypical Jewish caricature. He has a large nose, beady eyes, and speaks in a gravelly voice and is portrayed as greedy and covetous, another common stereotype of Jews. J. Hoberman of The Village Voice called him a blatant ethnic stereotype due to his hooked nose. Bruce Gottlieb of Slate magazine criticized him as well, comparing his character to the anti-Semitic notion that the Jewish race is "behind the slave trade."Patricia J. Williams of The Nation stated that Watto was also described as a stereotype of Arabs, but that he was "more comprehensively anti-Semitic -- both anti-Arab and anti-Jew." She added that Watto reminded her of an "anti-Semitic caricature published in Vienna at the turn of the 20th century."Jane Prettyman of the American Review noted that after leaving the theater, she heard two young boys describe him as "that weird little Jewish guy with wings". Prettyman described his depiction as "not at all subtle", and said that "it can be counted on to flush out already-formed Jew-haters among young audiences and give them permission to continue their hatred out loud."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watto

Yet another Snake River Canyon sized leap of logic. Did any of these people call for a boycott of TPM, which must be the most racist movie since Song of the South? Didn't think so...

Two apocryphal little kids in a movie theater calling Watto a "weird little Jewish guy" doesn't mean they're going to grow up into Anti Semites.

Honestly, I thought Watto sounded Italian. ;)

Watto isn't even the only person on Tatooine who owns slaves. Remember that Jabba the Hutt fellow? Even Clieg Lars bought Ani's mom and then freed her.

I think Jar Jar is a weak and annoying character. I don't think he's a Stephin Fetchit. Lucas isn't that stupid.

I long for the good old days when people looking to start trouble complained there were no black people in Star Wars, and how dare the bad guy be all dressed in black!

It sure as heck isn't the "I want (insert name here) to die because I didn't like their movies" thread.

I still have shivers caused by that one loon we had around here several years ago, that repeatedly talked about burying a certain Star Wars director with a shovel. I'm not sure what else one could use to bury someone in that scenario, but they were always very specific on that point.

Yeah i just put him on ignore too.

Look I know where he is coming from. I am a huge Sherlock Holmes fan,I grew up reading the stories, listening to the radio shows, and watching films and series and I hate the RDjr films. To me they just are not Sherlock Holmes, but I don't wish death on anyone who made them. I don't even wish the films out of existence(As happy as that would make me)because I know some people do enjoy them,I just choose not to watch them myself. Look if you don't like Jackson's take on middle earth that is fine with me(I personally love it and yes I know a lot of people don't like the Hobbit movies but I am enjoying them for what they are),you have every right to say you don't like them and explain why but when you start wishing death on the people who made them and excusing them of not even trying to make a good film I am afraid you have lost me. No film is so bad someone should die for making it.

Being a mod means never being able to hit the ignore button. ;)

Besides "The films need to be the way I want them," has Lucas stated anything as to why the Blu-rays became the travesty that they are?

Not really one of your more subtle attempts at baiting. The prequels are prominent in pop culture specifically for being so poorly done. Outside of something as insular as TFN, pop culture references to Star Wars are almost solely the original trilogy. 1977 and 1980 are why Star Wars remains prominent.

I'm baiting because I happen to like films that you don't? Oh, please. Get over yourself, do.

I've already given you two films off the top of my head within which the prequels are referenced, and not for being poorly done. I'd try and see where you're coming from....but I can't get my head that far up my arse.

Sparring with a moderator in this way seems unwise.
