Krieg der Sterne - Despecialized Edition 2.7 (German) (Released)
Time

Hi there,

first of all a big thank you to Harmy, Laserschwert and everyone who made this possible.
Thanks to you guys I was able to watch the original Krieg der Sterne for the first time in so many years and I loved it. Of course we can see where the set ends and a drawing starts, of course some designs are cheesy for todays standards but it’s always awesome to see the artistic creativity of great minds at work to try and get around those limits instead of just ignoring them by going CGI which in my opinion always looks worse than anything practical.
This movie feels completely different to what I remember from Star Wars. I can’t see the Jedi as Space Monks. From what Obi Wan says they feel more like an order of knights who roamed the galaxy alone to fight evil and most of them found their ends in some way or another. Something like the Excalibur tales and the knights of the round table.
For some reason the image of I think Lancelot comes to mind when he found Parcival after years and when talking to him noticed that he’s been dead for years. Here and there are still old knights fighting for a greater cause but most of them are long gone.
I may be the only one to think that but that’s what makes it a good fantasy. Your creativity is the limit. People have their own views, create their own mythos and talk about it. If you’re trying to force strict rules onto it you’re breaking the fantasy. cough Lucas cough
This new experience was almost like seeing it for the first time. Thanks again guys. I’m really looking forward to the other releases!

By the way Laserschwert.
I’d like to know how long you worked on the German version? I mean from the point where you sat down and said “I’m gonna do a German version of this” until you were actually finished,
