MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)
Time
I got copies of BotF and CW yesterday (promptly sent to me by bwlag).
I want to PIF to at least one member, so send me a PM if you're interested.

Note that MF says above CW will be updated soon so you'd probably want to wait for his new version instead...

Once again, in my eyes these edits improve vastly on the originals.
Thanks to MF & bwlag!

Star Wars: Classic Edition by Ocpmovie (Released)
Time
For those who missed it the first time around (like me), Star Wars CE was posted to a.b.sw last week.

Apart from a few DV artifacts mentioned in the .nfo (and slightly strong colors in my eyes) it's a great package.
Nice soundtracks & commentary.
The addition of the '77 mono mix lines to the DC soundtrack is a great feature.
Cowclops V.1 material still looks good and deserves its reputation, no problem here.
And it has professionnal looking menus too...

Thanks for creating & sharing this Classic Edition.

<em><strong>The Official Dark/Sega Special Collection</strong></em> OT LD Release Thread (Not an SE Transfer) (Released)
Time
I just missed this release, which looks great.
(I had 2.34 GB done when the dreaded "Article not found..." took over on a.b.starwars...)

<edit>Sorry, I got confused by the recent Jedi/Feta SE release...</edit>

Any chance of it being torrented or hitting newsgroups?
DJ & segaflip: thanks for your releases.

***Citizen's NTSC DVD/PAL DVD/XviD Info and Feedback Thread***
Time
Star Wars NTSC DL version:
Great transfer, one of the best I've seen so far!
On my TV it looks like most remaining limitations are from the LD source...
And colors look very natural to me.
Thanks for creating & sharing.

For those wondering, you can burn this release on Mac OS X.
I mounted the ISO, droped the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders in Toast's "DVD from VIDEO_TS",
then simply burned it on a DL DVD+R.
So far it plays fine on my DVD player and the layer break is where Citizen set it...

Info Wanted: an Original Trilogy preservation project with French audio?
Time
La honte ? Not quite. The french dub is quite good...
Like in the Leone movies and some others, I enjoy the two audio versions.

The translation is a bit loose in the first film, but gets more faithfull in the next two.
And here it's a classic: "Met la gomme Chico !"*
It's even sampled by the french rap scene**...

So while it definitely shouldn't be a high priority preservation task,
I'm sure quite a few French speaking people would dig to have a french OT.
(And their kids as well...)

* : Chiquetaba/Chico = Chewbacca/Chewie (in the first film only).
** : like the great Wu Tang Clan did with some excellent Shaw Bros. movies

***The &quot;Darth Editous&quot; Episode IV DVD Info and Feedback Thread*** - a partially &quot;de-specialed&quot; DVD
Time
Great release: "It's not the way it was, it's the way you remember it"... (or something like that)
Mr Lucas was talking about this edition, wasn't he?

I love the rough and direct-to-the-point feeling of the theatrical release.

But your edit (and footage rework) of the 2004 DVD looks probably as good to me:
it's a bit more round at the edges but it gives a little more life to the background with as few drops of CGI as needed (the one that don't distract from the story)...

Thanks for creating & sharing this version. (Darth Editous, russs15, segaflip, all the rest...)
